Is it wise to play along with been a Christian as an Atheist? I am finding it difficult to fake, it seems like a major blow to myself to lie to myself.

This means you're either not really an atheist or you are the type that's proud of what you are.
Billions are atheists but claiming believers that's why God's word says:

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Psalms 14:1

Note that it's in his heart that the fool is telling himself that God doesn't exist.

Well God's word calls such a person "FOOL" because unlike you who speaks up such a person will continue worshiping in disguise thinking all others are like him so he won't say anything at least to be sure of what is happening. But you that's raising your voice {Proverbs 2:3} will continue to meet different religionists until you find the real faith! Matthew 7:7-8 Compare to Proverbs 2:5

So keep it up my friend, keep raising your voice for discernment! smiley

Why do you have a way of twisting reality to suit your corny narrative?

Why do you follow what people say stupidly instead of reading their actions?

Some people do stuff not because they believe it but just to avoid stress and prejudice. Example, you're in a meeting and they want to start with a prayer, or you're asked for your religion in a job interview or you're seated in a bus heading to Sokoto with an all Muslim passenger. Do you start identifying as an atheist when its clearly gonna earn you problems ranging from rejection to assault? Use your brain sometimes. Try and be sensible. If you love your brand of christianity so much, get near a mosque in Katsina and start preaching

You tried my friend but then you need to listen to other people's opinions and weigh both to know how to ensue PEACE.

If you're an atheist there is nothing to preach or teach so when religionists converge in any location close to you there's no reason for you to speak! Ecclesiastes 3:7

If i'm in a meeting and they're about to pray i will make them know that i'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses so they shouldn't expect me to flow with them since i'm not used to their prayer stuff. After all if you're from China and they're about to start their religious stuff they wouldn't just expect you to grasp what they're doing, would they?

Then as a Christian we're not supposed to constitute nuisance in the public claiming that is a form of preaching, Jesus never shouted in the streets {Matthew 12:19} it's an organized arrangement where we move in group and distribute ourselves in twos each pair knock on doors, introduce ourselves as neighbours then start a conversation. Matthew 10:11-13

Of course there is no human society where people make rules against welcoming strange faces in the neighbourhood, if the householder turns our visit down it doesn't mean we have offended him rather it's our message he doesn't want due to one reason or another best known to him, if we branched and start sharing cash the whole street will stay in front of their doors to welcome us.

So it's misinformed churchgoers constituting nuisance in the neighbourhood that's making people like you feel Christianity doesn't make sense. If you have never met churchgoers before even as an atheist you will love to welcome us because we come for knowledge which you also feel like sharing with others even though your faculty never organize you people to do so! smiley

If only more christians, properly and correctly read their bibles, there'd be less christians and/or less Constantine christians even

Personal text: Jesus is not a theologian. He is God who told stories.

Are you doing it because you are still under parents or guardians? If not, there is no real reason to pretend to be Christian. You can live your life without religion, it doesn't mean you need to be an arsehole about it.

I live with my family in my own house but the issue is workplace and friends. I can't just tell my patients that are Christians that their hope for a spiritual delivery is wrong. Example, you advise a woman who is a candidate for an elective CS that she's going for a CS. Now you can't tell her that her belief(of delivering like hebrew women) is rubbish. You'll end up being tagged occultist, and once that tag sticks, there's nothing you can do about it. You end up losing patients. Most people tag atheists as occultists. I don't have friends because of that(not that I care)

Yes it's wise, depending on the case.
Personally I don't mind. I don't bring it up unless my conversation with someone goes that way.

Exactly. Being an arsehole doesn't make you a "real atheist".

But some christians would go against your will, harass you, cajole you and even threaten you to join up. More like an army conscription grin
They would say they're obeying the will of their father

I have learnt how to say no and be firm without being rude. Yesterday my wife wanted me to go to the Shiloh programme and I said no, dropped her off and went back home.
