One of the things ASUU wants to avoid, but the APC government sees and thinks otherwise. If you don't understand what I have written, check yourself.

That a tragedy
the blame goes to the building engineers i'm very sure this happened because of poor construction and use of fake material in construction

I'm not an engineer though, I think it's not about brick layers or material but the soil .. It time they start testing the soil to know it carriage capacity before mounting tall structures .

All our building materials in Nigeria this days are substandard and fake. Alot of materials used in construction this days can't hold the construction strong and for longer days.

My dad who was a civil engineer will always tell me that he used stronger materials to build on all contracts he got in the 70's and 80s than what is in the market nowadays. 5 bags of cement this days cannot do what 2 bags will do then.

May God help us

Emergency responders recover two bodies at Lagos building collapse.

Emergency responders have recovered two dead bodies from the rubbles of a seven-storey building that collapsed in the early hours of Sunday in #Lekki, Lagos State.

Unless and until the authorities inject SANITY into the building and construction industry, all these are just tip of the iceberg and the beginning of woes to befall Nigeria in Structural construction. This is a country where professionals are poorly trained and to worsen things, every bricklayer poses and parades himself as an ENGINEER. Our people enthusiastically patronize these quacks because we are too lazy to seek competent professionals and are too wise to pay appropriately for their services. We are happy to part with little or nothing for services that attract thorough knowledge. There is always a price to pay for opting for cheap and inferior service. We have just started paying that price...

Horus:
The menace of building collapse in Nigeria is very alarming and appalling. Building collapse in Nigeria has become the norms and they are easily swept under the carpet whenever it occurs. It is rather unfortunate that both human and economic loss we record each time there is a failure or building collapse is rather humongous. There is also a lot of blame game among professional stakeholders in the industry once failure or collapse of building occur and unfortunately, there is no proper scientific investigation in Nigeria to ascertain the cause of failure or collapse as the case may be in order to avoid any future occurrence. After review, it was discovered that building materials such as reinforcing steel, cement, sand, granite, sandcrete blocks and concrete play huge important role in either the collapse or stability of buildings in Nigeria. The roles of these materials are so vital that they contribute immensely to the collapse of buildings. It was concluded that 10-25% of buildings that collapse in Nigeria are as a result of the use of poor quality building materials

The builders sometimes pay for good quality materials its the idiots they put on their site cut corners buy using less cement, wrong width of steel rods all sorts of reasons...just to cheat the builder of money they compromise the building with using less of the material needed then it collapses one day ....bunch of ingrates

Lagos is the only state in Nigeria that works.

That's why I want to vote Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023
