Please guys I will like to ask, how long those this MTN 5g router last or those it even have inbuilt battery, because I am hearing that it does not have backup battery, how true is this and it is only exclusive to only MTN sim card or it can work along side with other network sim card

I pre ordered mine and collected it 2days ago from mtn maitama office, Abuja. It doesn't have inbuilt battery, but backup ups power bank that last like 3hrs (5000mah)

The router is locked to mtn sim. I tried etisalat sim inside, no network. With time, unlocking procedure will surface..

This is how the swift 4G modems we used to use them are. The battery is outside the modem it works just like it inbuilt the only thing is it's external .

There is no difference between this and inbuilt . I don't understand what the OP is saying

The backup ups power bank is your battery and also your backup supply should incase light goes off. If you are brave enough and you have constant light in your area you can plug the modem directly with a socket guard.

Personally I prefer the external ups supply to the inbuilt battery cos it lasts better than the inbuilt batteries that come with their own myriad of issues later on. Though both the I built batteries and the external ups supply both works on the same principle.

I feel your pain, I used to be paranoid about availability of electricity until I got an inverter.

Electricity supply has improved greatly but we’re not there yet.

I think the 3-4 hours battery runtime is fair for the device

I recently traveled to lagos but never got 5g reception, even in Ikoyi.
S21 ultra snapdragon.
Thought you or someone here said only exynos suffers from the issue of not discovering mtn 5g.

I never said only the exynos models aren't getting the 5G.

I was able to get the MTN 5G signal on my S21 Ultra snapdragon SM-G998U1 in Ibadan.

Yes, all devices that support WiFi 2.4GHz and 5GHz can connect to it.

If 5G isn't available in a location, it automatically steps down to 4G or 3G as the case may be.

Now, given that your phone doesn't support band N78(Mid band) and yet getting 5G, however, at very slow speed. This further makes me believe that MTN may have deployed Low-band 5G in addition to its Mid-band 5G.

I get 5G along Airport Road just after City Gate whenever I'm passing in a vehicle, also in Gwarimpa. However I don't get 5G in Wuse Banex area on my phone, but I did get on the MTN 5G router.
