When you want to make Pap...
While mixing your pap with ordinary water...
Make sure you mix well with spoon so the pap would have melted well with ordinary water ..before adding hot water and then it will come itself..if you don't mix well it will give you koko ...and some times...the pap itself could be the problem.....
It might sometime turn out to be too watery..even without much hot water...
Just pour it in a small pot and put on fire..it come up thick itself and you stir ..thats all

I never get it wrong, I just make a slurry, put enough water and cook till it turns akamu.

The key is knowing the right mixture of pap, cold water and hot water.

Na una dey waste una time. My own na to dissolve am with enough cold water, drop am on top fire, and stir till it thickens. I no dey to o that boiled water rubbish because the texture ends up being chalky.

I can't make Pap to save my life.

The only way to get it right depends on the cold water, while mixing up the pap and cold water start from pouring the cold water little by little and make sure you mixed them up very well
Infant your mixture with cold water depends on the kind of result you will get , as long as you mix your pap very well with cold water and it become thicken and smooth then start adding your hot water, don't put your spoon or anything inside it while pouring in the hot. You will get the thickest pap with this method
Note that if after mixing the pap with cold water and you realize that it is a little bit watery, add more pap to make it thicker, if not then enjoy your watery pap in peace

Akamu simple yet difficult.. One thing hv observed, as long as it is refrigerated. U cant get it by just pouring hot water, u must return it back to the fire. Secondly always make sure your pap mixture is thick and well stirred before pouring hot water, u dont expect to get a thick pap when your mixture is watery already.. Thirdly preparing pap is divine grace from GOD
