Part 7.

The bandits got really close to our vehicle and I was seated right behind the drivers seat, I know if they opened fire at the vehicle they wouldn’t miss. The passengers in the other vehicle in front of ours quickly highlighted and tried running to bush.

Some passengers in my bus tried running but they changed there mind(lol) because if they do, they will be running to the direction of the bandits. I knew it was better to stay alive than getting a bullet to the head. The bandits opened fire but not towards our bus or the escaping passengers, maybe they were shooting to the skies just to make the running passengers to stop in fear.

When I heard the first gunshot my brain literally tripped off, i placed my hands on my head, taking a position for impact and closed my eyes. I will not lie, I did not remember to pray.

I did not see what happened after the first gunshots but I can tell it was chaotic. I heard shots and people were shouting and panicking. The gunshots reduced and I raised my head to observe the situation. I noticed, since all the passengers in my vehicle did not move out or tried to run to the nearby bushes, the bandits did not pay attention to our bus and they literally moved to other buses in front, (that is what I think.)

I told the guy seated close to me that this was a perfect time to run. I quickly checked my hand luggage and got my power bank, and I dropped the luggage, I did not want to carry any load while running.

And waited patiently in panic not wanting to make any mistake at all. Finally, I got the balls I needed, not because the coast was clear, but because the bandits had moved further to other busses in the scene. It was time to run.

I gently moved to the door, everybody was panicking real bad. I did not say I word. The guy seated close to me knew it was time.

I opened the door, and I ran to the bush in the opposite direction, and the guy closer to me did the same thing. While in motion, the gunshots went back on. But this time i think we were the targets. I did not stop to analyze the situation but I know for sure other passengers in my bus had joined the escape.

I had only one mission, and that was to stay alive, the gunshots did not stop and I think some passengers behind me got hit( I’m not too sure)

I ran as fast as I could, the bushes here was crazy, alot of low lands and branches, I fell off a couple of times, but I did not care.

I ran for like 10-15 minutes when I finally turned around to talk to my friend and I noticed it was just me in a thick and crazy bush. I can’t retrace my steps back to the highway because I had made multiple turns. When I had ran enough, I stoped to rest for some minutes before continuing.

I checked my phone to see how many percent of battery I had, it was like 50% or so and my power bank was 100%. I was lucky enough because I had my USB cord in my pocket. I was so relieved, at this point I started strategizing to know my next line of actions. I had some network coverage on my phone and I was about to open the google map when I heard some people talking in a distance. They were speaking Hausa, I barely understood Hausa. I tried to observe, after some time I decided to walk towards them to seek for help.

As I was approaching gradually, A spirit in me was saying THIS GUYS ARE NOT FRIENDLY. I stopped, I could see them with AK47. I asked myself “do hunters use AK47 to haunt ??”

I never needed a prophet to tell me the answer, I knew it was time to take off again. I turned around to run when, I heard some shout “no move, no move o.

Tales of things that never happened!
Complete fiction. The first part of your story can only happen if you work in Arab countries.

So touching, sorry about what happened man. Meanwhile, I have a friend that directs movies, not all these wack movies, something like Hollywood. I'll like him to use this your story as a plot for his movie. It will make a good movie, maybe he can add something else from his mind or other script writers.

How can I contact you?

There are several loopholes that give away your writeup as mere imaginations.

Tell your fiction as it is. Do not force readers to accept it as real life events.

PART 8.

I was about to run, when I heard someone shout “no move”, And he cracked his gun. I froze at that spot, I couldn’t move even though I wanted to, I closed my eyes waiting to hear a sound of the Gun.

The man came closer to me and ordered me to turn around and he insisted I do that slowly. When I turned, I saw about 4 men with guns. One of them asked me in pidgin English “wetin you Dey do for this bush”? I couldn’t say a word, I tried to speak but I couldn’t. He repeated “wetin you Dey do here? Who you be” ? I tried to speak, I was mumbling, the Ak47 pointed to my head wasn’t helping at all, i was so scared,I have never experienced anything like this before.

They dragged me to meet there leader, who was watching the whole scene from a distance, wielding a roughly-looking gun. This was when I realized these were Vigilante men. I was so relieved, I explained the whole situation to them and how we were attacked by bandits on our way. The vigilante men asked for details and I told them the axis were we got ambushed.

The leader of the vigilante made a phone call in Hausa language, in less than 5 mins other men joined them. Now it was time to go back to the scene, to the main road were all of this thing happened. I called one of vigilante men, I told him that I was so scared of going back. I just wanted to get a bus going back to Abuja( I was so scared of passing through kaduna)

The vigilante assured me that I am in a safe hands, I thought I was. We gradually walked through the bushes, it was a tactical movement. I remembered to pray for the first time in a long time. I don’t really understand why this men want us to go back to the scene were it all started. I asked one of the vigilante men “Oga, why we Dey go back to that place” he replied by saying “we wan go fight back”

At this point I knew it was a wrong move, I did not know what to do. We gradually approached the main road. I could see the main road from a distance. I tried to observe if my bus was still there, yes the bus was still there but empty.

I saw bodies on the floor and blood stains too, it was a very gory site. When we got to the main road, I asked the vigilante men what’s next, nobody answered me. I was about to get my hand luggage from my bus when another rounds of gun short went off again.

This time, I can’t really tell if we were been shot at by police men, army or by bandits. I laid flat on the floor beside the back tyres. The gunshots went on and the vigilante men I came with were shooting back.
I couldn’t move, the gunshots did not stop and it was getting dark.

When the gunshots reduced a bit, I dragged my self, while crawling on the floor. I ran towards bush, the direction where the bandits initially came out from. That was the only path I had. I ran as fast as I could not knowing what to do. This time, I told my self that I wasn’t stopping for anyone. I did not look back or wait to see who was wining in the shooting battle(lol).

I knew I wasn’t going to die that night because I had escaped death twice. It was getting dark couldn’t turn on my phone. I don’t want anyone to see my phone lights from a distance.

It was time to camp for the night and wait for help or stay back till day break. I did not know what to do
