Where can anyone outside Nigeria watch this? Last year's episodes were on YouTube, but looks like that are not doing same in the current year.

It's on youtube. They release new episodes every week (I think either Saturday or Sunday). They are currently on the blind auditions and have released 2 episodes already.

They upload each episode on Sunday and remove on Tuesday. I don’t know why they are doing it like that this year.

I spend 90% of my time on Youtube watching various "The Voice" shows from different countries and I literally watch every day. As a matter of fact, I just finished watching when I saw this thread on Nairaland. I just love the show like crazy. The emotions of chair turnings, the crazy hidden talents of people etc make it one of the best shows ever. And being a music junkie, I am so glad that this show is back again in Nigeria

They do post the videos on YouTube, but i think they take it down after a while. You need to watch as soon as they upload

All the previous episodes are now uploaded on YouTube. I guess they had copyright issue earlier.

I still don’t get how these coaches make their selections, some of those that got chair turn are not as good as those they let go

The blind audition is over. Sadly, some great talents couldn’t make it to the main show. Sadly, that is life.

There are some talents to look out for in this season. John Akpos, Benjamin, Faith just to name a few.

I look forward to the next round.

For other coaches, I don’t know. But for Waje, she doesn’t turn for talents whose style or voice tone she feels she already has on her team. So if a talent sings so well and she knows she has someone with similar style, she won’t turn. Rather, she would encourage other coaches to turn.

Knock out stage is here. Team Waje competed last Sunday. 3 talents out and 2 talents hijacked by Coach Praiz and coach Niyola.

Tejiri, David, Faith, and Martins really impressed. I’m particularly looking forward to David’s other performances on this show.

I feel Chris deserves a place in the next round. Unfortunately, everyone cannot win this case.

Sometimes I feel some of these talents forgot that this is a singing competition when they want to pick their choice of song. Deborah and Jochebel almost sabotage themselves with the wrong song choice.
That’s why I love Jahtell of season 2. She stuck to songs she can perform very well till she got to the final day.

I was surprised Waje saved Matthew the classic singer. He’s good no doubt about that, but I doubt seeing him going far in this competition because of his style and genre of song. He could prove me wrong. I guess Waje wants to see how he would fare when he has to do other songs.

I felt sorry for Chris, the song he chose was great and he performed it well but as you said everyone cannot win.
Busayo chose wrong song although he’s good and jochebel story is going like that of Eazzie from season 3 she might go far

I hope Jochebel proves Waje right.

Naeto C made a statement about Jochebel choice of song being popular and difficult song to sing. So he was expecting more from the performance.

I feel talents should learn from this. If any of them would be going for a popular and difficult song that would require crazy vocals (Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Jennifer Hudson etc kind of songs) he/ she should be ready to bring an A-game. Because the problem with those songs is that people I’ve heard the original songs and know how great they sound, and so anything slightly below excellence is a crime.

I’m really rooting for John akpos, he’s got this soothing emotional voice that carries the listeners along

Coach Naeto C is such a terrible coach. He should stick to his rap music and forget being a coach in such a big stage.

It seems he loves women a lot thereby giving him the choice to pick only women from his team.

I see Team Praize and Team Waje winning this show.

Anyway, let me wait for Team Niyola.

In btw

Are you guys seeing John Akpos? Hmmmm cool

For me, Naeto-C’s talents were really underwhelming last week. I can count only two or three talents who brought their A-game.
I feel Naeto-c concentrated too much on the stage performance, as shown in some of his coaching clips, than singing. This is not in anyway bad. However, this is a singing competition where your ability to sing trumps stage performance. Knowing how to blend both would surely take any talent to the promise land.
For instance, Waje showed one of Naeto-c’s talents how he could have delivered his song better. Nevertheless, I would like to believe Naeto-c did his best but stage fright got the better of most of his talents. I’m sure they would do better at the battles.
John Akpos is one of the talents to look out for. I still go back to watch his audition clip.🙃
I feel his major challenge is going to be at the battles. I say this because his choice of songs have been within his strength. His real test would come if Praiz choose a song outside of John’s strength at the battles to see how he would fare against another talent. Waje and Yemi Alade werefond of doing this in previous seasons.
If he John escapes the battles and gets to the live shows, I see him in the finals.

I’ve observed that singing competition posted on TV/movies section tend to gather more follow than music/radio. I could remember the Nigeria Idol thread of Kingdom set on Tv/movies section getting to about 38 pages. Last year’s Nigeria Idol thread posted at Music/radio section had just 14 pages or so.
Just an observation.

Naeto-C nor be am my brother.

@your third paragraph, you are so right when you said John Akpos' test would come when coach Praize samples him a test outside his comfort zone.

I wish all of them the best of luck.

When are we expecting Niyola's team performance? cool

Team Niyola’s performance should be this Saturday if it wouldn’t be shifted cos of election

…..on Neato C I think he’s underutilizing his talents (as toluxe0075 said he focused more on their stage movements) hence the low performance and I feel some of the talents he let go are better than those he retained (still don’t get why he’s got all females team aside Bryan)

Why didn’t DStv give it a dedicated channel? I assumed they canceled the show till later in the year.

The voice Nigeria usually don’t get a dedicated channel on Dstv. I think Nigeria idol had a dedicated channel two years ago but was later scrapped, and I doubt it had one last year.

The show is still on. New episodes air every week on Saturday on Africa magic, YouTube and other channels.

Team Niyola brought their A-game to this show. For me, this set has the best performances in the show so far. It is so sad some talents have to leave, especially Stella, Melody, and Somachi who, I believe, all deserve an opportunity in the next round.

One can easily tell that Niyola understands this music thing. It reflected in how she coached her talents and the end result. Kudos to her.
