I didn't know that I had the powers that will force you to edit my post, change my words & put in your own words. If I may ask, what was your intention?

If you could that, then what is the guarantee that all you have been saying about fuel subsidy is true? Doesn't it show that you have a talent for presenting falsehood as truth?

Bye .

Why should I ask myself. Am asking you. I thought you said obi was making sense. If you say he was making sense then you shouldn't be scared of the questions. Did subsidy make itself an organized crime? Who is making it an organized crime? Is it by removing it that it will no longer be an organized crime?

He was asked a question and he answered it... Saying fuel subsidy is an organized crime isn't a wrong statement... Because some people are not busy eating up the country in the name of subsidy... I've told u.. Watch him, listen without sentiments then alone u will understand.... But u don't want to understand because of sentiment... So stop asking unnecessary questions

Can you show me the sentiment you are referring to? Do you think at all or do you think for yourself? If someone said something, can't you think beyond what the person said?

Is there anywhere i said that obi saying subsidy is an organized crime is wrong?

Based on what he said that subsidy is an organized crime, Did subsidy make itself an organized crime? Who is making it an organized crime? Is it by removing it that it will no longer be an organized crime?

If you watched him and understood him, why can't you answer the questions? Can't you as a Nigerian think beyond what a politician says?

If you can't answer the questions I asked, what then is the essence of removing subsidy?

When GEJ said it, APC and tinubu criticised it. Look at where we are today and imagine what it will be if an ailing man is in charge of a country like Nigeria.
PO2023
They did not only criticize it, they actually protested and grounded economic activities with the "Occupy Nigeria" protests in Lagos and elsewhere.
APC is evil, I swear!

They assume Dangote Refinery would be up and running by then. Why do you think fuel price just got increased? It is in anticipation of fuel subsidy removal. Any marketer’s last Purchase Order for fuel importation shouldn’t exceed December 2022. Otherwise, such importer will fund it with his or her own money. That’s why the importers are trying to make last minutes profits before handover date in May.

We all know that subsidy ends with buhari, any presidential candidate that says he won't remove it, is only deceiving gullible Nigerians.

In the nutshell, if petrol is N450 a litre as at today, imagine what the cost of petrol will be from July next year. Nigerians tighten your seatbelt for the worst.
July this yr bro.

I suppose buy car since December .. but I want to wait until subsidy is removed and a liter hits 550..

Lots of people sell their cars cheap ,because they will not be able to afford it

Subsidy gulps N150 billion every month.” N150 billion is still less than the N200 billion monthly transport bonus bill the regime will pay to 400 million Nigerians. In other words, Nigeria will spend more money on transport bonus to an amorphous, unidentifiable, and probably cooked-up 40 million poor Nigerians than the subsidies it says it pays on petroleum subsidies, which it says are too expensive to be sustainable. That makes absolutely no sense.

The last time the Buhari regime increased fuel prices last year, it said it had completely done away with fuel subsidies and had left the price of petrol to the vagaries of demand and supply. Now, the regime’s honchos say again that the subsidy they said they’d completely removed, for which there was no allocation in the 2021 budget, must be removed again! ....."

Thank you for hitting the nail on the head. Most folks just jump on the bandwagon of 'subsidy must go ' without paying attention to how dishonest these people are. From 'there's nothing like subsidy' to 'subsidy has been removed' and now to 'we are going to remove subsidy'. Hmmmmnnn

I think it is the same thing being said, the only difference is that he is a politician that wishes to win an election and has to be subtle in statements while you are not.
Comming from his entrepreneural background, I am sure obi knows your point of the monopoly of Nnpc and opening up the market to competition.
On the other hand that might not be easy because I heard dangote allegedly sponsored some sort of legal agreement where only him will have exclusive right to import refined petroleum products at the commencement of production in his refinary.

It’s tra.sh. It’s a propaganda. How will a refinery be importing refined fuel, exclusively? That one na beer palour lies.
If there would be importation of fuel beyond June 2023, what will NNPC and other key oil marketers be doing that will now warrant only Dangote to be importing refined fuel? Why is the refinery being constructed in the first instance? No refinery is needed for refined fuel. Only storage tanks and some logistics are needed.
APC is waiting to win the election and also waiting for Dangote to start refining before they fully remove it.

You and your fellow presidential candidates should stop all this childish talk

Tinubu of APC said the same thing and some people where praising him just as people we rush to praise you

What is subsidy?

You shunned the root cause of fuel crisis and focused on chasing shadows

Is there any major top 10 oil producing country in the world that is importing refined fuel for their local consumption, the answer is no

So, why are we importing refined fuel instead of refining it locally and exporting both crude and refined fuel to other countries

If any of you must remove subsidy, you must first remove the monopoly in refine fuel importation

Nigerians and business owners who are interested in importing fuel must be allowed to do as long as they can import products that meets minimum standard and also have the facility to store them before distribution

Take the case of GSM handsets, when it was first introduced, ordinary Nokia touch light cost over 40k but when many Nigerians dived into the importation of handsets, prices of phone crashes

Same thing will happen to fuel if government will for once consider Nigerians plight, remove the monopoly of NNPC, allow more players to import fuel into the market, price will fall below 100 naira

You are so quick to rant without thinking. Peter Obi made a valid point even before NNPC was the sole importer the subsidy was an organized scam in GEJ's time in 2015 ot was claimed we consume 54m liters of fuel per day. That one in itself was a scam but when Buhari came it assumed unprecedented proportions in one year they claimed it increased to 90m liters when at the sMe time the purchasing power of the country was down and the interesting part was that we were paying from 145 per liter to 175 per liter. So the best thing is to remove it and let people either import or establish refineries so that there would be competition which will lead to reduced prices. Peter Obi is right, unlike other candidates he gave valid reasons why it must go.

Fuel is likely to be expensive in the country where you intend to run to than in Nigeria.
Nigeria is on number 8 in the world where fuel is cheaper and we are on number 3 in Africa.
We have been spoilt by our government without meaningful development.

You didn't listen to him very well. He said Dangote refinery is almost done. Some other refinery in Nigeria is not working. Some so called illegal refinery will come in. There is no need of exporting and importing our crude oil when we have the refineries that can do it here in Nigeria.

You missed the point, beforebthe subsidy will be removed they will throw the supply end of the market open you can either import or produce locally from the refineries that way competition would be encouraged and price will reduce, but this will not be done in 2023 because any president will follow Buhari's 2023 budget first while the plans for subsidy removal would be perfected.

How did you arrive at your definition of subsidy? How is this the meaning of subsidy...."Subsidy means that we set the price of fuel below what it costs to produce because of poor Nigerians".

How is Nigeria importing fuel because of subsidy?

How does lack of the profit you talked about cause

1.Sabotage...for more free government money

2.More and more corruption.

How do Saudi Arabia and UAE earn far more revenue than we do?

Are this dense that you don't know that Saudi earns far more revenue than us, also it is cheaper to produce oil in Saudi that in Nigeria
