Fresh graduates with little or no experience should be given the chance to prove themselves. On the long run, they might end up performing even beyond expectations.

Most job openings I have come across, part of the major requirements is that the Ideal candidate should possess minimum of 3-5 years post NYSC experience.
The question now is, how am I, as a fresh graduate suppose to gain 3+ experience without working?

24 years for Degree holders and 26 years for Masters holders.

That rubbish should stop!

Applicant must have graduated not less than 2 years ago.

That fraud must stop!

Applicant must not have more than 3 years work experience.

That scam must stop too!

Give everyone equal opportunity, then select the best from the pool.

And then generally...

Tribalism... MDAs headed by someone from a particular region, isn't a liaison office. You'll enter an office and you'd think you're in a State Local Government Secretariat.

That nonsense must stop!

The Central Bank and other highly specialised government MDAs must advertise vacancies.

Let HRs or Companies start putting expected salaries.

Let's know if the job position attracts a salary of 40/50/100k... so job seekers don't waste their time. Who go work, go work!

Reduce number if experience. Everyone is teachable so long they have educational background for said job

Show the salaries. Stop wasting people's time, telling them that you offer attractive salaries when you still pay 100k or less.

For God's sake, 100k is less than $140. Good jobs shouldn't pay less than 500k ($670) per month ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Don't use the phrase, the pay is attractive, if you are paying less than $500.

You are the one of the few posters that I enjoy reading on Nairaland.

It's so sad that this time your post was poorly thought through. But then we all have bad days every once in a while.

A good job is a very relative concept with an extremely wide horizon. What you refer to as a good job 500USD is what some people will not even bother to consider even for a minute. It is also only a dream for some applicants.

What we need in Nigeria especially for our youth is at the first instance a consistent income. When they get this they can then think properly and perhaps plan for a greater career move.

You may find it difficult to understand if you graduated from your training and landed a job almost immediately. The psychological trauma that goes with the hopelessness arising from Zero income is enough to make any one insane. A job with consistent income first.... ...and then career growth and improvement.

By the way, my appreciation goes to the plethora of private school owners and indeed other small scale business owners who have been largely unrecognised. It is these people that have provided some succour and support for the youth of this country over the years.

Just imagine our contemporary society without these job openings.

Age limit should be considered. It shouldn't be 30 as they usually attach to gvt jobs

State the benefits and salary range.
I have just gone through a recruitment process with an organisation and even did medicals. Only to realise that they're paying 100k per month, this is even lower than what I earn presently.
I felt insulted; my time I shud have use in doing something productive was wasted too.

Fresh graduates should be considered when stating their job requirement.

Imagine 5 to 6 year working experience for a Job that they are offering 150k salary.

Count of police force 371,800 officers
Total military force personnel 2,230,000
Total Nigeria population 219,697,926
With this numbers does it not show that we need more personnel in all forces? And if they cut the age limit will insecurity and unemployment cut down?

Higher job opportunities. Applicants should be put to test and placed under probation before they're finally recruited, retirement age should be strictly adhered to and pensions to be payed at due times.

Don't always give up on yourself.

Sometime last year, a particular young guy applied to join our organisation as a professional creative.

During the written and oral interview, you could see how passionate he was seeking to join Sabi Writers.

The job meant a lot to him.

Unfortunately, he didn't meet our criteria.

So he wasn't hire.

He felt really bad when we broke the sad news.

But he didn't stop.

Many months after, he applied again.

We saw his name on our database and we decided to invite him over for a second examination with us.

He was determined to clinch the job

He sat for a couple of our tests.

I saw his latest crafts and I was utterly impressed.

The quality of his work had improved.

Apparently, after the first rejection, he dust off the failure and kept on working on himself to be better.

Long story short, he finally got the job!

During the interview, he asked for a salary range but we said, no, we're going to pay him something more

He was speechless!

So I asked him:

"How bad do you want to join Sabi Writers?"

His reply was:

"So bad that I had to apply again..."

Recruiters should always learn to ask Applicants if they would prefer Virtual or physical, online or offline/walkin interviews.
Not everyone likes online interviews!

Always state salary to avoid wasting people's barely-there transportation fare.
