Following calls by the Presidential Campaign of the All Progressives Congress, APC, that the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi should denounce the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, publicly, the party has on Tuesday lampooned the ruling party, asking if its presidential candidate, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, denounced Oodua People’s Congress, OPC when he was governor of Lagos state.

Chief Spokesperson of the LP PCC, Dr. Tanko Yunusa, who stated this, described the action of the ruling party as hypocritical.

i decided to make this short thread to answer the question so many Obi followers have been asking me and i guess others about Tinubu condemning OPC before Obi can condemn IPOB. i got so many mentions on the same issue that i was surprised. i don't understand if Tinubu is their role model that they must foloow to act right.
i guess the mob direction started from last month when the spokesperson of the LP PCC asked the same question, maybe he sent it in their whatsapp group chat or something.

For starters, OPC was not a separatist organisation like IPOB but according to them a nationalist, regionalist, and vigilante organization. Separatist is by law unconstitutional as it threatens the sovereignty and peace of a country, which its leaders swear to protect. IPOB basically wants Biafra, another nation. OPC started as a specific reaction to the annulment of the elections of June 12, 1993. Their main aim was to make Abiola get his "stolen mandate" and to protect yoruba interests. It has since evolved into several different roles as it has adapted to the changing political and security environment in Nigeria.
Of course, Abiola died in 1998 and OPC took up more of a vigilante or security role. Many people in SW knew them then for this, fighting crime, catching kidnappers, robbers and so forth with so called juju. They broke into factions which made their functions difficult to define as they were part self-determination organization, part vigilante group. Once they started violent confrontation with members of other ethnic groups, human rights abuses and acts of violence. The FG led by a yoruba man OBJ declared shoot at sight on them and the SW supported it.
Of course, the people and even SW government still had some soft spot for the faction involved in crime fighting so it became kind of messy to support or not support. They were like the Amotekun of today, though not so organised.
OPC did not have say over the SWest or disrupt economic and security of the people. They did not go about kidnapping soldiers, killing and beheading yorubas and political office holders. They did not enforce sit at home or burn markets and properties, police stations and government offices or greatly threaten the stability of government. They have been majorly under check and wings clipped since that time, around 2001 or so. Only hypocrisy will make us compare the two.
The SEast is losing trillions of naira due to ipob activities, while Tinubu was increasing IGR from 600million to about 8billion in the midst of inconsequential OPC activity. As an aside, i happened to live around the area Fasehun(the OPC leader then) lived in Lagos at that period. There was no insecurity, no fightings, no shacklings whatsoever. i even knew his family by face then. Why do i add this, because it is something i remember and was there, not just something i read online.

Do you mean a nationalist as in the quest for the so-called "One-Nigeria"? I guess OPC is simply a cultural organization which is completely deluded. However, OPC should be properly tagged separatist organization if its aim is to actualize Republic of Oduduwa. I think cowardice is a huge hurdle for OPC.

Ethiopia
$5.2 million per KM ($4.5 billion total) for the 759 Km heavy duty standard guage rail line from Djibouti to Ethiopia. Finished in 4 years. Can carry container of goods and passengers

Lagos
$54 million per KM ($1.5 billion total) for the 27KM light rail line in Lagos. Can only carry passengers. It's over 12 years and still not finished.

Conclusion
Back in China where records must be submitted to the stock exchange, the company that built both lines reported that what they were paid for the Lagos rail is $181 million, but Tinubu's Lagos said they spent $1.5 billion.

Lagos people should ask Tinubu where he kept their $1.2 billion.

Tinubu is said to be worth about $6 trillion dollars. It is certain this is how he amassed such wealth.

The guy is a big thief and the money he looted is used as a confidence renewal for him because he feels he can buy the mind of Suffering and deprived Nigerians.

If Peter Obi had half of what Tinubu had in terms of revenue trust me Lagos State development will be child's play.
