You don't know Law. The magistrate at this stage has nothing to do with their indebtedness to the Microfinance Bank. The case before the Court of Law is assault of a Lady. To naked a lady in public is a grave offence. That 300K has nothing with the loan at this stage. They have to pay for damages to the lady before coming back to the debt.

I can tell you that the bank staff might have orchestrated her stripping herself just to get the debtors in trouble for not paying.
That is why the bank sent her a woman and secondly because they know the idea of reporting the debtors to the police merely due to the fact they are owing won't warrant their arrest .

Why send someone to collect money anyway? The loan agreement must have collateral attached so since the borrower is in default just call in the loan. That is the end of the story. Am I missing something here?

You just stated the fact. Most Nigerians have bad intentions, the toxic system also empowers them to keep misbehaving. A friend financed a tricycle to empower someone with a payback plan. The guy disconnected the tracker & fled with it. The old man that guaranteed him is now restless of what might happen next.

Hope you're fully aware there are genuine reasons why people aren't able to repay loans when due at times?

None of us knows what exactly happened, and definitely there are terrible humans out there. I can't judge whatever approach that lady may have used since WE ALL DON'T KNOW, but just know that certain extremes lead to certain extremes.

They can even kill you, once I borrow you money and you are showing no interest in paying, I will just mark you as a potential killer because I don't understand why someone who probably was kneeling down and begging for help he was in need will suddenly forget those days and turn to a warrior overnight just to avoid the repayment.
