There are many hinderance and unbelievable challenges coming his way. They can be overcome with effort and grace, but not to be under estimated.

Do you have a registered company? You may just explore the oil and gas sector. There's a lot that can be done in that sector. In 2021 some Indians came to them to secure their pipelines. They didn't know anyone they just sent in their proposal and it was granted, just like that. No single Nigerian participated yet, we'd be hearing marginalisation in the oil and gas. These indians are so smart. They see what we don't see. They always need people to supply them speed boats in the warri axis, USB cables, serial cables etc. Some locals would go and bring used boats from Europe and they'd manage it because people hardly visit them to find out what they need or send them mails on what they can offer.

Those whites aren't like Nigerians. They read every mail sent to them and keep important ones for follow up.
Many warri guys don't live in lagos. Some may not even visit lagos in a year yet they're multi billionaires. There's one of them whose name I won't mention. He's a chief, young guy popularly called warri billionaire. This is a social media forum so, there's a little to what I can say here. Find time to reach out to them via email. They'd respond. It's not every opportunity they advertise openly. Good luck.

Dear OP,

I must commend you for keep the hope alive, your kind are my hero and not some larger than life folks I read in books or taught in class. Not to sound unique, I've come to one conclusion in my life, regardless of my poor background I've make it a point of duty to toe the part of honor and that has been my own saving grace.

Once again, I must commend you for braving the odds, you're my inspiration.

If you want to make money in the United States;
1.......IT 2....... Truck driving 3....... Medical doctor 4....... Nursing
If you are serious, you can be making $30,000-$50,000 a month driving truck.
Per annum you make $360,000-$600,000
And you think its easy to get that?

Oga, make una try dey calm down small small nah... shooo....

How can you just start throwing figures around like that?... What truck drivers make $30-50k a month... abeg calm down small..... don't mislead the guy at all....

Yes, truck drivers make money, but not that much.... not even half of what you quoted.

I will advise you go for number 1 on the list, which is IT....

Track some naija guys around, there are always different IT classes you can enroll in.... It won't cost you more than $3k-5k, and can take between 6 weeks to 12 weeks.... After the training, package your resume.... post on Indeed and Dice, and also package your Linkedln profile... that's all you need...

Meanwhile, find other jobs to do while taking the IT classes... cos you go need bar to take dey pay your bills and even pay for the class.... trust me, in about 6-8 months, you would be happy you did...

As for the others on the list (Medical Doctor and Nursing), those ones go still take you at least 4 years (Nursing), and at least 8-9 years for the Medical Doctor.... so the IT is your best choice for now...

Even the truck driving will still take you a while... cos you have to go through the driving school... and then you have to shadow someone, before you become a full driver..... If you decide to travel inter-state, there is money in it... but not even up to half of what was quoted here......

So use your sense.

Shut the Bleep up if you know nothing about truck driving.

IT takes up to a year (that is if you are intelligent to grab easily)

Does he own the truck or he drives for someone?

Yeah, the only problem is that you spend about 15hrs-20hrs on the road and at the end, someone else would be fucking your wife.

Apart from that, a truck driver makes more money than a medical doctor.

A glimmer of hope

In the course of seeking assistance on campus, I asked a few students about the process to be taken for deferment of admission. I was told to visit the Student Affairs Division and my request would be granted. On getting to their office, the officer in charge advised me to talk to the school’s psychologists at the Youth Friendly Centre (YFC) of the school.

That same day, I headed for the centre. On getting there, I met a very beautiful psychologist who I believed should be in her late forties. She was very friendly and made me so comfortable. Then she asked about the purpose of my visit. I narrated everything and ended it by informing her that I would be deferring my admission. She then looked into my eyes and told me I was going nowhere, as I was there to complete my program. After the session, she gave me food, money to pay for GES and pocket money to feed. She then called her friend that worked at the student work-study office and connected us. This was how I got a part-time job on campus.

Within the same week, our fellowship announced that there was a need-based scholarship that gives a stipend of about ten thousand (#10,000) to deserving students. I applied and got the stipend the same week. This enabled me to pay for my departmental and faculty dues. By this time, some of the electives that I wanted to borrow from sister departments within our faculty were no longer accepting students. Hence, I had to complete my electives outside of the faculty.

You're of the greatest UIte grin

The road to America

By the end of March 2022, I have received responses for all my school applications. I have four total offers with one being funded. I was very happy but I decided to keep calm as I have read several cases of people being denied visas at the embassy.

I proceeded to arrange for the payment of my SEVIS and visa fees. I had a little delay with the payment of my SEVIS fee, so I could not pay on time. For this reason, I missed the early dates that were released for the interview. When the money was finally paid, I started looking for interview dates in Abuja. This process was arguably one of the hardest as dates were always not available. After a series of sleepless nights and sleeping on my computer keyboard, I managed to get a date that was a few days to resumption. I picked this date and began my preparation for the visa interview.

When it was two days before my interview, I left Ogun State for Abuja by road. Prior to this time, I have read news of kidnappings on the road. Although the news greatly disturbed me and my loved ones, the flight cost was exorbitant and going for that option would create a big hole in my finances considering my current and future expenses.

I got to Abuja at night and lodged at a guesthouse for two nights. On the day of the interview, I woke up very early and went to the US Embassy at Diplomatic Drive. When I got there, I met other people who were the for the same purpose and I went straight to the front. About an hour later, we lined up and were told to go in after the checks.

Throughout the process, I was so nervous because the stakes were so high. Since I was the first person in the queue, I was also the first person to be interviewed by the visa officer. My interview lasted for less than three minutes and I was approved. I quickly took my files and left the embassy for the guesthouse. Then I called my family and friends to inform them about the good news. It seemed surreal! My visa has been approved and I will be going to America!

A few weeks later, I booked my flight and the travel was scheduled for December. After spending time with my family and loved ones, I departed Nigeria for the United States in December 2022.

Yes, dreams do come true! I hope someone will try again one more time before giving up on life.

I read your story all through. It was inspiring. I hope you still reach out to those that went out of their way to help you in one way or the other?

And try to help others as well (as much as you can). I wish you the best in life.

OK sir... I don shut up.... why should I argue with you?... Nigerians with their know-all tales... it's quite easy to know you're talking out of 'no experience'... continue sir... the Lord is your strenght...

Come to think of it, since your brother drives a semi-truck and makes up to $40k a month, it's not a bad idea for you to tell your brother to send you his tax returns, and then you should take a look at his income.... I mean not send to us ooo, he should send it to you so you can check... and maybe by then, you will stop running your stinking mouth like a tap....

For those interested in knowing more about trucks, please read the attached link.

https://www.cloudtrucks.com/blog-post/highest-paying-trucking-salaries

Owner-Operator: This means you own the truck, and also operates/drive it.... That's when you really make good money from truck.... and if you check the pay, you see the annual net income doesn't equate the $40k this clown is throwing around...

Y'all should be careful of these people that seat behind their keyboard in their Iragbaji town somewhere in Osun state throwing figures around, talking about things they have no single idea about.

Again, for the IT, you can ask around and see to enroll in those classes taught by naija instructors... those classes takes between 6-12 weeks, and if you are a fast learner, you should start interviewing in less than 5-6 months. Please note that there are different fields in the IT world.... there is cybersecurity, IT audits, etc.... Data analysis/engineer takes longer time.. cos you have to learn different programming language for this... so it's your choice on what you want..... GOD NOR GO SHAME US OOOOO...
