There is a difference between Agbero and touts being empowered by the government and Agbero as a general menace in society.

In Lagos, I can swear that if MC Oluomo coughs, Sanwo-Olu, a sitting governor go catch a cold.

Can you imagine a tout being more important than a sitting governor?

Ko boju mu nau, E je ka soro sibi toro wa!

Hypocrisy is when APC îmbeciles codedly ignore the fact that an attempt was made on the life of a frontline governorship candidate in Lagos state but instead bring up topics about agberos in Onitsha grin Onitsha that they can never point to in a map of Anambra grin
At least, the Anambra state government has been seen to be doing something about that menace but if you ask megacity people about their own agbero menace, you'll be surprised that the social miscreants who normally should have been steered off that course via qualitative education and skills acquisition from day one are instead openly frolicking with the powers that be with their blood stained hands. Centre of excellence o grin You think Igbos are your problem and that's why you're laughing at the speck of dust in their eyes instead of removing the log of wood in your own eye. What a bloody shame cool

At least Soludo has made repeated efforts to fight the agbero menace, the shame is on you who supports and encourages their atrocities in Lagos grin hypocrite isonu

Which genocide? Bloody wicked liar!

Thanks for admitting that Obi did a horrible job.

Lagos agberos are only tax collectors. Unlike South East thugs who are mainly armed robbers and kidnappers.

Everyone knows mumu like you will talk. As long as there is hunger in naija, these agberos will spring up everywhere. What you should look at is are govt making these agberos in anambra or other parts of naija big men? Those ones are motor park touts which are everywhere. But MC oluomo that is a known agbero has backings from lagos state govt which shouldn't be so. How many touts in igbo land do you know that has govt backup like oluomo or popular like him?? Name them if you can
Then why can't the government stop the agberos in igbo land after all the government is not there for decoration.

Like someone said, everything igbos does is hypocritical, go to Ladipo and try to come out from Toyota after buying any thing heavy, you must pay 500 to the Igbo agberos,

I bought a door for my car and hired a tricycle to carry it to the main road , Igbo agberos blocked me on the way that I must pay 500, they said anything on wheel barrow , or on head or tricycle must be paid for, I simple told them as a Yoruba man I will not pay tax to Igbo man in Lagos, they blocked the tricycle and I step down hang the door by my shoulder and started walking with it, they can’t ask me not to walk in Lagos, I’m their host.

You entered night journey marcopolo bus come here wan tax me for my own house, arrant nonsensical.

If you go to Festac first gate, agberos there are Igbos, They are worst.

In the east we buy ticket from nnewi to most part. There is more organization. Your pay all your dues in the loading point. No one stops the bus for main road except police.

Come to lagos you see things.

When people from south south and southeast come to lagos for the first time and the agbero on the road some will think its armed robbery.

Owo mi da-- where is my money.

You will hear
Owo chairman
Owo security
Owo turning

People are just looking for justification for everything. Yes, there is no state that you don't have touts and thugs, especially in south west, south east and south south but the bottom line is, which state seems to have legalized the menace?
From the look of thing, it is only Lagos that legalized agberoism and they are even more powerful than many learned people in the society. You see police escort and they weird guns and all such of assaulted fire arms.
Ibadan was able to overcome theirs late Abiola Ajimobi. Ibadan was also hot in agberoism but Ajimobi dealt with them and reduced it drastically. It was from the agbero act that Sunday Igboho became a millionaire overnight because government seeing to empower them.
Those comparing the agbero in Onitsha with Lagos are just economical with the truth. If you've ever lived in Lagos and doesn't have bitter experience of agbero, then, you don't come out of your house. You must be a purdah.
The government backing made them to be spreading like wildfire in Lagos and they think the present government can easily tame them because they are the one that empowered them.

If you want to understand these Igbo Agbero concept of charging people with goods for crossing bridges

Go to any Igbo dominated market especially Alaba, try link Alaba from Okokomaiko around okoko police station axis , Pako bridge... You see live and direct what Igbo Agbero do to Igbo traders in Yoruba land

Everything about them is hypocrisy

.

Lol those of us that have lived in SE before know that Igbo land is the worst of everything they criticize in Yoruba land.

The only problem is that an average Igbo care more about what happens in Lagos than what is going on in their ancestral land. Na Lagos dey enter their eye.

The Agbero in Onistha are insane! Anything is possible there
internationalman:
These twitter guys are just laying it on thick with their stories. I mean even MC Oluomo or Tony Kabaka the chiefs of all Agbero would not tell you to change your destination because it benefits them unless it's a joke..

Everyone be behaving like Agbero in Nigeria. Even jehovah's witness members are not left out; they would give you handouts and tell you it's free only for them to request for money when they are about leaving..

That's why someone said to become rich in Nigeria one must be dirty.

During my Service Year in 1993, I was coming from Enugu to Onitsha to board a vehicle to Lagos around 11am. To save you the long story, it ended up to be a night bus. It was a terrible experience which I would never forget about Ibos. Imagine he gave me ticket immediately I entered the bus and people were already inside the bus. In fact, it was one seat that was left I never knew those guys were not passengers. Very deceitful agberos. Lagos own are far better.

Haa, South East thugs are the worst.

Broad daylight like this, these people will rob you in the market and their fellow Igbos will keep shut.

Dem no born you to press your phone inside bus for Onitsha market.

The time I travelled to East, it's from Ondo that people have been warning me to stay alert once we leave Delta and enter Onitsha, Anambra.

See heavy sticks with nails that their thugs were using to attack traders.

That was Onitsha óò. When I got to Owerri in Imo it was same story. Daylight robbery in Douglas Market, Owerri. Igbo man will sew slippers for you and tell you it's 4k. Oga, no be new slippers I wan buy na. Na ordinary to sew slippers wey cut. Even the new slippers no pass 2k. Before you know anything the Igbo guy will change it for you. He may attack you and even call you a thief. And his fellow Igbos will either watch as he abuses you or even help him in his evil (which they are aware of).

Nobody in my family had ever been robbed at gun point until my brother was posted by NYSC to South East. Guy had to avoid road transport completely and wait till end of NYSC to take flight home.

And the wickedness of Nigeria media isn't helping. Crimes in the south east are just too underreported. All these killing, kidnapping and beheading news we see from south east are just a fraction of the reality. Haa, that place is the most backward place I've ever been to on this earth. I'm not capping!

Election nkọ, dem no born your papa well as a foreigner to go out and vote. This last election my uncle told me that Igbos were threatening to punish all the northerners that left south east to vote in their home towns.

Of all people in this Nigeria, south easterners are the last you would expect to talk about agberoism. But then a wickedness and hypocrisy...

Crime in SE are too underreported my brother.
