So the urchins could only come up with just 16k for advert. Very poor people.

And oga just realized that 16k is too small.

Well, Judas realized that 30 pieces of silver wasn't worth it but then it was too late.

This is needless. I was one of those that supported that the ad should be removed but this your epistle is needless.

This apology will only expose you to more trolling and cyberbullying.

You dont form WOKE when it comes to political matters.... no time for sitting on the fence you need to be on one side. Dont let cybermobs determine your choice for you.

Seun:
Dear Igbo People,

I sincerely apologize for allowing a toxic political banner advert which said, "Lagos can never be run from Anambra; go and vote" to run on Nairaland for several hours on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.

The mischievously worded banner advert appears to have been part of an ethnically divisive political campaign aimed at securing Lagos State for the ruling party by instilling fear in Yoruba people, making them believe that Igbo people intended to "take over" Lagos State.

Such ethnically divisive political campaigns have no place in a forward-thinking democracy, and for this reason, the ad should have been taken down instantly. No harm was intended, but my lack of forethought about the ethics of that type of advert led to a disappointing outcome.

We should have had a clear policy against accepting negative and ethnically divisive ads on Nairaland, we should have communicated it to all advertisers, and we should have taken down any advert that violated that policy instantly. This will all be in place before the next election.

We made almost N16,000 from the ad. We will double it and donate it to victims of political violence in Lagos.

Please, do NOT give up on Nigeria. The times are challenging, but TOGETHER, we will overcome.

Sincerely,
Seun Osewa.

It's was really too much on us, for just supporting our own brother, after how many years of marginalization in our one Nigeria...

Seun, I enjoyed your twitter post of Late.
I understand this is happening as you are seeing the trend of tribal slurs and how many emanated.

Apologies accepted, but this is an eye opener.

It's well...And to think you promoted GRV on your platform only to accept ads with a dagger to his heart!!

Going forward, a clarion call should be put across to Igbos nationwide to boycott voting outside South East nor Igbo groups endorsing any political candidate. That will be fair enough!!

Also the "Nigerian Anthem" should with immediate alacrity be recomposed, because the phrase "To build a nation where peace and justice shall reign" is obviously a big scam...

Anytime you apologize you set up yourself up for more bullying, you can see that already.

I have never heard Nnamdi Kanu apologize for all the death he has caused all over the place through twitter, facebook and youtube, even the CEOs of the various platforms he spread his hatred didnt apologise.

Man dem!, you will continue to apologize forever, until you realize that you cant please everyone.
exactly. Seun is weak. He tries his best to be fair, but they mock his weakness.

Why are you still focusing on the hate even after the apologies, it is obvious that nothing can stop you, that is why i think Seun is not supposed to apologize at the first place.

What i hate in my life is hypocrisy, the igbos have done worst than what was advertised but you dont see the Yorubas or northerners complaining.

I commend your good intention. There were worse adverts everywhere here and outside Nairaland.

I hope you understand that no matter what your good inention is, you can only do your best. It is good for good conscience.

But note, you can never please most of the Ndi Igbo. They will seize on it and find fault.

Well done Seun. More grace to your Elbow.

@Seun, you blocked me on Twitter after I called your attention to this same ad.

I wasn't even abusive, I just said "have you seen this? Seun" And you blocked me.

Not that it matters. Just calling out your hypocrisy.

you must be stupid. You think you can indirectly insult yorubas. Yes thugs were stoping fresh people from voting. The reason is they think woke people including woke yorubas did not buy into their agenda. It is as simple as that. Those thugs do not represent us, they are the bad eggs among the yorubas just as you are one of the bad eggs among igbos
