Where is the fifth ground? Following the link in the post, I read the premium times article and I could see that one of the grounds is that BAT did not score the majority of lawful votes cast. That there is the ace. |

OfoIgbo:I understand you are trying to keep your believe intact as an ardent supporter. However, if you can digest the principal prayer which asks the election be cancelled and fresh one held, you'll realise that your assertion of Obi having any concrete evidence of rigging or winning the election is a mere self consolation. The principal prayer has nullified the stolen mandate argument. |

SmartyPants: As you didn't see any good logic in the petition prepared by 12 SANS, and deduced that Peter Obi is not smart, you literally saw the SANS and Peter Obi as illiterates; therefore Tinubu who did not attend Primary or Secondary school but acquired Chicago University degree through dubious means, is the educated one before you. |

Beremx: Nationwide. But it will be between first and second alone. If the person that wins the popular votes in the second round don't meet the 25% requirements, A third round of election will be conducted between the first and second alone. For the 3rd round, only a simple majority Will be required. |

Masterito:Obi' files his petition with the following grounds and prayers: GROUNDS AND PRAYERS OF THE PETITION In the petition, Obi through his lawyer Livy Ozoukwu submitted that Tinubu “at the time of the (presidential) election was not qualified to contest the election”. Advertisement He further argued that the president-elect “was not duly elected by a majority of the lawful votes cast at the time of the election”. Consequently, the petitioners are asking the tribunal to determine that all the votes recorded for Tinubu in the election “are wasted votes, owing to the non-qualification” of the president-elect and Shettima. “That it be determined that the 2nd respondent ( Tinubu) having failed to score one-quarter of the votes cast at the presidential election in the federal capital territory, Abuja was not entitled to be declared and returned as the winner of the presidential election held on 25 February 2023,” the petitioner said. Also, the petitioners have asked the tribunal to make “an order cancelling the election and compelling the 1st respondent (INEC) to conduct a fresh election at which the 2nd respondent (Tinubu), 3rd respondent (Shettima) and 4th respondent (APC) shall not participate”. https://www.thecable.ng/obi-files-petition-challenging-tinubus-victory-demands-fresh-election/amp |

Just In: Peter Obi files petition to nullify Tinubu’s victory The Labour Party (LP) and it’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, have filed a petition challenging the victory of Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s president-elect in the February 25 election. The petition was filed at the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja on Tuesday, March 21. The petition marked: CA/PEPC/03/2023, has the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Tinubu, his running mate, Senator Shettima and the APC as the 1st to 4th Respondents. The petitioners are praying for the tribunal to declare that Tinubu was not duly elected by a majority of the lawful votes cast at the election. They pray the court to cancel the February 25 presidential election and order a fresh poll. Specifically, the petitioners alleged that at the time of the election, Tinubu was not qualified to contest. They equally argued that the election was invalid by reason of corrupt practices and non-compliance with the provision of the Electoral Act, 2022. Tuesday, being the 21st day since the declaration of the results of the election on 1 March, is the last day he as well as any other aggrieved candidates and political parties have to file their petition in court. |

OfoIgbo:One obvious fact is that the level intellectual depth and critical thinking in this forum is very low... The only thing most participants do here is fight defeatist ethnic supremacy battles with very little attention for objectivity... It is trite that what is going to unfold will be a long, arduous legal skirmish... You don't have the likes of Livi Uzukwu, Onyechi Ikoeazu, Jubril Okutepa, J Hong etc in your team and then begin to second guess and flinch... Go first with overarching constitutional breaches before amending your prayers to include the low hanging fruits... A marathon is not a sprint event.... 3 Likes |
