Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. has set bond at $555,555.55 for a 68-year-old bank robbery suspect who said ‘5 is my lucky number.’

Police say Jimmy Maynard, 68, of Beaumont, is charged with robbing PNC Bank off the Interstate 10 East frontage road in Beaumont at 9 this morning.

JP Collins says Maynard handed a note to the teller, demanding $5 and that they call the police on him. They did, and Maynard waited for officers to arrive.

He's in the Jefferson County Jail on a 2nd Degree Felony Charge of Robbery.

udge Collins says Maynard told police that 5 was lucky number, so the JP set bond at $555,555.55. Judge Collins says even though some may chuckle at the bond, the charge against Maynard is serious.

His unlucky number is 2-20. That's how much time he could face in state prison if a jury convicts Maynard of the robbery charge.

A check of criminal records shows Maynard served 12 years for 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery in the Texas prison system and was released in 2015.

He deliberately wants to go back to prison. For some people they prefer life inside more than outside.

At least, he has something to preoccupy himself with now...

Rape: 18 years imprisonment
Attempt to rape: 15 years

shebi you go kuku rape make you know wetin you dey do for jail...

How can you rob a bank of $5 and think the bank will be happy for wasting their time...
When you rob a bank of $4 million, banks can declare a loss of $50 million and make more money from the insurance claims, not $5.

ps
I don't subscribe to rape or any form of sexual violence and I m not recommending it to anyone.... before some holier-than-thou people begin to take me seriously....
