How Can I Recover Time That I Have Wasted by OmonnaEast: 7:24pm On Apr 22, 2023
i hope someone who knows me does not read this
i came to Lagos 9 years ago, i quickly started doing security job at a young age barely 18, i was legally 17 years plus 9 months, the security company operations manager just helped me because they really needed guards for a newly gotten contract at c.m.s, the pay was good then 45k, but i wasted the salary i didn't save a penny, always eating small small snacks like pof pof, buns, okpa and groundnut.
i worked with them for like a year and left and join another security company where i also worked for 2 years, yes the salary might be small i received 25k monthly but it is no excuse why i did not save.
over the past 7 years i have worked for different security and cleaning companies in Lagos with the average salary of 20 -25k a month. but I did not save a penny, maybe because of immaturity, maybe childishness, maybe wastefulness, no plans for future and after 9 good years of working zero savings.

Currently i got a new security job in Lagos and after 3 months of working i struggled to save 26k in my savings account now.

But today looking back at 9 years ago of my life since I've been working and only 26k to show for it I'm kind of regretful, wish i could rewind the hand of time.
everyday don't pass when I don't think about it
i have plans for my life, plans to do business in future but with the slow savings it might take another 4-5 years to gather enough capital.

i am worried.

With N25k salary, you expected to save millions? Don't you eat and cloth? Even those who earn 6 figures are struggling to save 20k.

You are not living under the bridge and you are not begging for food, be grateful…
