But why didn't the serpent beguile her to eat the tree of life? They were sent out of Eden as part of their punishment to avoid eating the fruit of life which would have given them eternal life (Hen 3:22-23.

Cain and Abel's name was not found. Abel is not there because he was killed without having a child. But the Bible confirmed Cain had children.
The book of Hebrews said Enoch is the seventh from Adam. If Cain were to be mentioned, Enoch would have been eight from Adam.

1John.3.12 - Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
The Bible here referred to Cain as been born by the evil one (Satan/Serpent). But in the genealogy, Adam was referred to as the Son of God. Note that the son of God cannot give birth to a wicked one because we are meant to bring forth after our kind.

Is Cain really the son of Adam?

It couldn't have been sex. One, because God specifically told them to be fruitful and multiply. And the only way to do that is through sex. So why would God now turn around and punish them for obeying his own instructions?

Two, the Bible says Eve took from the fruit and ate first, before giving it to her husband who was with her. She couldn't have had sex with herself first before having sex with her husband, could she?

Three, if it wasn't an actual tree or fruit, why did God have to send them away from the garden and lock up the place and place bouncers (cherubims) and laser beams (flaming swords) at the gates to prevent man from returning?


On the issue of Can and Abel, Genesis 4:1 expressly stated that And Adam knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the lord. That is as plain and simple as it can be.

Due to the long waiting period for God's promise of a son, Abraham yielded to the advice of Sarah and got Ishmael which was only a fruit of God's permissive will. Hmmm. You sound like a student of philosophy. It's quite a refreshing change of pace to see someone thinking outside the box like this. Unfortunately we may never be able to get enough evidence to prove or disprove your hypothesis.

The Bible expressly states that Eve conceived only after being "known" by Adam. While this may support your theory that the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil was likely sex, it simultaneously disproves the probability that Cain was the seed of the serpent.
