A Salary Of N200,000; 3 Yrs Ago Is Looking Like 50k for the Nigeria today by Rubyjade: 7:32pm On May 08, 2023
Dear Employees,

With the rate at which things are going one source of income does not seem to hold water anymore in this Nigeria our country. A salary of N200,000 (Two hundred thousand Naira); 3 years ago is looking like N50,000 for the Nigeria of today.

We no longer save transport for work, we just have money to go to work because there is no savings.

It seems like we are working on transport and feeding. As Salary seems to finish before every second week of the month!

Dear Nigerian Employees, how are you coping?

In this season if you can learn a skill that can assist with the family responsibilities, kindly go ahead.

I have seen great HR experts who are moving mountains in the industry also become food vendors for events.

I have seen professionals sell various products on the side.

No matter what you earn, Nigeria has a way of humbling you.

If you can, learn something or a trade (side hustle) that will help you with the family responsibilities. But please, dont trade it for your effectiveness and excellence in your corporate job.

Happy New Week!

How can you compare 50k of 3 years ago to 200k now. That's too drastic.

The little is much if God is in it and perhaps the little we get however can make a life.

I've seen someone who bought land when his salary was 30k. The salary was increased a bit and he's almost complete his projects.

I'm only saying this to humble those who are struggling.

Irrespective of the amount we earn I pray for God's Grace and mercy to bless our hustling.

In few years to come May we have the grace to look back while seating in our palace with exotic drink and smile and say "Gone are those days" with Joy and sound health.

Above all don't forget that ...Women are the source of life... I pray for the best among them as wife and daughters

depends on the soup though.

2-3k manageable ogbono soup might be okay for an average person/family, that 8k might be okay for Turkey/chicken stew for some average family. Some soup no matter how you try to improvise still cost money.
