Who Owns The Wife??? by Oyerinde16(m): 10:45pm On May 16, 2023
This guy, (Guy A) did a lavished traditional marriage (wedding) paid bride price and other traditional rights... The community told him that was it for them and he can go with his wife, they also told him if he wanted to do white wedding or any other wedding, he could always invited them...

Guy A took his wife and went on with life, things became hard for him and his family and wife packs out...

Wife meets Guy B and refused to disclose she was once traditionally married, Guy B did Court wedding on the insistence of the lady...
Lady now Wife vehemently refused taking Guy B home for traditional, with the help of sisters and friends, they pulled through the court wedding...
Wife has not given any issues to both guys...

Guy A arrest Guy B with police few months later for taking his Wife... On investigations, the who issue was unraveled...

Even at police station, some police said Guy A is the husband since he paid the bride price... Some others say in the eyes of the law, Guy B is the husband...

Who owns the Wife kindly state clearly with valid points...

Both men are very stupid

1. They both didn't veto the woman they were with in the first place. That's why the first didn't know she was a gold digger and the second fool too failed to realize that she was a liar and a cheat (who will also take him to the cleaners the moment his finances go under).
Have standards as a man. It'll save your fvcking life.

2. Agreeing to marriage in the first place. What benefit does marriage warrant for men in 2023?

3. Instead for them to join hands, kick the manipulative bitch out of their lives and start over elsewhere armed with sober wisdom, they decided to draw knives and joust to the amusement of the seductress pulling their strings.

Simps are so stupid.
And the entire situation/question is stupid too.

Nobody "owns" a wife or a pussy. It's impossible.
It's her own veejay, she can give it to whoever she wants to regardless of what you have to say.
Putting a ring on it won't make it yours either.

Bang and move on.
It's just your turn

You are bothered about who owns a promiscuous woman instead of helping both men have common sense and debug their common problem.

You are fighting for a woman that left you for another man?

Live like she doesn't even exist, let her live her life.

Every marriage starts from tradition where the family will give you the consent to start marriage preparation and finally hand over the wife to her husband with the witness of other family members, that's just what Mr A did

Then because Mr B was not using his head properly, the manipulated him and got her wedded in the registry, who then give him the approval to marry his daughter,
Nobody because he evaded that part

So Mr B, was just a snatcher and Mr A is the rightful husband who is recognized by the girl's family

Traditional marriage are still valid under the eyes of the law, except that they are inferior in the presence of the court marriage.

Once of the first requirements to get married under the court system is that, “you must be free to marry” if you even given some form at the registry along those lines.

Since she is not free to marry at the time she did her marriage with GUY B…her foist fits

According to the family (Mr A)

According to the law (Mr B)

What do you mean she is not free? Why does it sound as though you are insinuating that polyandry is illegal in Nigeria? undecided

Is customary marriage recognized by the Nigerian constitution?

In the eyes of the law (funny expression though) guy B is the husband.

In my eyes, all of them are mad!

A court judgment on a case like this just happened in one of the southwestern states of Nigeria. The woman was cheating on her husband who was a pastor with a native doctor. The husband sort divorce from the court of law because they did Court marriage. The court discovered that the man didn't pay bride price despite the court wedding and ruled that there was no marriage between them and no divorce after many years together and having children cheesy cheesy grin. They were told to go their separate way cheesy

Simple case.
The woman should simply return the bride price that Mr A paid.
Case closed.

The woman already made her choice.
Re: Who Owns The Wife??? by perfectgen(m): 4:39am On May 19, 2023
None of the men can boldly say that he is married to her; by law, someone must have given her out and it must be legally registered, which is missing in both cases.

Jokes apart, the woman looks like an opportunist that cannot be wifed; let me borrow the slang - "she belongs to the street". Once a better paying maga shows up, she will use technicality to disavow the second man since he has not paid her dowry to stylishly move on.

The first man is however wrong in arresting the second man; he has no contract with him. He should have arrested the wife and charge her to court for practicing polyandry.

go learn how to read and understand, after learning that, then go and read the the thread again. I just screenshot where the court said so in the link you sent.

1) Polyandry is not a legal form of marriage. It is neither recognized by the courts, customs have since outlawed it and no religious institution identifies with it in Nigeria.

2) Husband B does not have a valid marriage.
Existing Lawful Marriage
Where either of the parties, at the time of the celebration of the marriage, is lawfully married to another person, the subsequent marriage shall be declared null and void and of no effect.

A simple court appearance will declare the second marriage as void and contracted under false information.

3) Husband A is a foo^l. Why are you arresting a man who is innocent and also a victim of false information and deception? Why fight for a woman who clearly don’t want to be with you. Why not use that energy to find your feet, demand a return of dowry and let them be?

Even the screenshot does not state that the man and the woman were ever married in the court? undecided
