this is wise advice. I have said it here countless times, digital skill is the way to go.

I wish young Nigerians know what bringing out a month or two to learn a digital skill will earn you on Fiveer or Upwork.

When I was in Nigeria, I learned one and it helped me alot. I learnt web design and development.

I freelance, use geepay to convert my dollar and push it to my naira account.

Working on upwork will make you live what I call a baby boy lifestyle.

Imagine earning 3000 dollars a month. It's not easy if you start, but with time, you will reap the fruits.

A friend of mine just got a job. In the US, he will be coming to Connecticut next month. He is a data analyst.
Bros pls tell me any tech skill that could lead me to USA, i really wanna dive into tech.
And must i obtain bsc or any degree before i could get a well paid job? Cos dude's just an ssce holder.

if you have a laptop, I'll advise you learn web development, it's one of the skills that will land you in the UK or US.

Just put in your mind and master it, gain confidence and start applying for international jobs.

Most UK tech companies need web developers, it's one of the jobs in the shortage list in Scotland and England.

You don't necessarily need a degree if you want to be freelancing on Upwork, but if you want to work abroad, you may need a degree in any discipline.

can one learn digital skills without a laptop? I'm willing to learn but don't have a laptop
you can learn with your smartphone on YouTube. But I suggest you get a laptop, register in a tech school were they teach it, learn and practice until you become perfect.

Learning on YouTube is fine, but I advise folks to register with a tech school.

I have two brothers studying computer education
I have tried convincing my parents to channel same amount of money on these guys to learn digital skills but No they so value this degree thing
please bro, advise your brothers to learn a tech skill.

Money I got from Upwork helped me in paying for my flight ticket when I got my visa.

Getting a degree can only get someone a job of 150k highest in Nigeria for a start,( that's if the person is lucky enough)

But learning a skill can earn you thousands of dollars on Upwork. Once you're good, clients go dey rush you

its a nice one your brothers are on track( studying computer science ).

All they need is the right mindset, the zeal to learn, a laptop, then they will have to register in a tech school were its taught, and they also have to learn on youtube, it will help them learn faster.

My advice for Young folks is learn digital skills and start free lancing, the sky is your limit.

I dropped out, learning Web designing and she is making at least a million per month on upwork. The money in her account is at least 10 times my own.

Digital skills is the way.

#50k, #100k work per month, won't make you comfortable, it will just make you not beg to eat.
Skills + Hardwork + Consistency + Prayer

Digital skills like?

Good question
Before my NYSC, I was determined to work in a company. I was posted to a secondary school to teach but the school rejected me. I visited all the companies in the state and the last one I visited accepted me. Six months into the service, the company notified me of their intentions in employing me due to my outstanding inputs.
Employed immediately after the service year, sent to Siemens for trainings on Programmable Logic controller (PLC), Variable Frequency Drives, Industrial Automation etc. Later sent to Russia on industrial Electronics.
This area of career is mostly occupied by Expatriates in Nigeria, some are even Indians. There are job vacancies for this job because very few are into it mainly because it's hard to learn and the cost of training is very high.
With Dangote refinery coming on board, I advice Nigerian youths to venture into this field of Automation or else the Indians will continue to enjoy the space.
It takes EXTRA efforts to made a difference
Good evening. Please did you study Elect/elect Engineering?

Would it be easy for a complete novice to learn either of this within a space of say 3-6 months?

Erase this defeatist mentality from your head, Ali Baba, Basket mouth, I go die and the lies were stand up comedians but today we have sensational social media comedians. Think outside the box, be different.

Freelancing is already saturated.

If the government doesn't find means to create jobs for our teeming youths, most of them will go into Yahoo+.

Forget tribalism - Nigeria is on the pathway to destruction and needs a brilliant leader to salvage the wrecking ship.

Depending on the number of people involved

Please if you are to do the training. What do you expect your trainees to have to be able to participate.

This is not a mentality but a fact.

Besides, you are drawing a dissimilar analogy.

By the way, I am a full-time freelancer and member of many freelancers' online forums.

In fact, many people joined that space immediately after COVID and have refused to return to their 9-5 jobs because of the benefits of the gig world.

What keeps some of us who have been there pre-Covid is that we have already built a strong client base.

Believe it or not, freelancers who intend to join the space today have enormous challenges to deal with because the space is supersaturated.
