I am a 300lv elect elect engineering student studying in a federal school in the north

I recently began internship for instrumentation and control as well as automation (Siemens, omron and ABB). Though it isn't a standard firm that trains me but an individual ..
Most of these firms like IIT, zip automation, AETI are in Lagos

please how can I reach you.
I need your advice

You're on the right track. Keep it up. Never give up.

Please if you are to do the training. What do you expect your trainees to have to be able to participate.

I don't think I have the time to train anybody. There was a time I decided to give a rare training on this free of charge as a way to contribute my quota for youth development but the opportunity was abused. Somebody even said I wanted to scam them. I had satisfied my conscience. I can only provide professional guide for people on this area.

If you're good in physics or study any Engineering courses, then you're good to go.
A week course in Automation could cost close to half a million naira. You could search online for where to attend such. Some of the trainers have never practised on the field, just dishing out theories.
I have been on this field for over 15 year with hand-on-the-job and had worked with a lot of Expatriates across the globe. Sometimes ago, I decided to train more youths on this field and mentor them to become Automation Engineers but only to realize according to Mr President that Nigerian youths are lazy. Then, I backed out having satisfied my conscience.

Please i have been searching for this opportunity. I won't disappoint you if you coach and mentor me.

You won't even believe it.

My current job, I was contacted from a job board. I did a telephone interview and by what should be a second interview with my would be manager (now my manager), it was 'when are you resuming? Do you have any questions for me?' to God be all the glory.

I am resuming a new job mid June, by God's grace, with one of the top 10 banks in the world. I applied for a role with them but got contacted on LinkedIn by them for another (higher) role.

Again, to God be all the glory.

Could you share the job board?

I was reached out to on LinkedIn. I have done multiple interviews with European and US companies but no success.

To God be the Glory, one clicked and pay is in Euro. Its been good so far.

My only Nigerian interview was supposed to be First bank but I turned it down. I avoided Nigerian companies because their pressure is something else and they pay nonsense.

Is it remote work or you relocated?

this is wise advice. I have said it here countless times, digital skill is the way to go.

I wish young Nigerians know what bringing out a month or two to learn a digital skill will earn you on Fiveer or Upwork.

When I was in Nigeria, I learned one and it helped me alot. I learnt web design and development.

I freelance, use geepay to convert my dollar and push it to my naira account.

Working on upwork will make you live what I call a baby boy lifestyle.

Imagine earning 3000 dollars a month. It's not easy if you start, but with time, you will reap the fruits.

A friend of mine just got a job in the US, he will be coming to Connecticut next month. He is a data analyst.

I would love to be pointed in the direction your friend took as I am a data analyst also.
Please

Was strolling on my phone when I saw an ad. My first job was with a Bank as a contract staff by Workforce group Covid19. Pay was 59,000 Naira. We are over 100 that went for the interview, only 8 of us got the job because of my digital skills I was lucky.

The income on that job, though small, but was consistent, it really helped and made me stable.

On that job, I discovered freelancing on Upwork here on Nairaland that made me a consistent millionaire and my life changed.

Recently ChatGPT came, dealt with most of our client base, now I'm back with 9-5 to support my income.

P.S. Please no pay is too small, start from somewhere and grow bigger. It's better than begging for urgent 2kay

I got my first post NYSC job which is my current job through intentional networking.
I finished NYSC last year October 2022 but had the offer letter from a multi-national by September 2022.

Here is my story:

I was intentional about saving my NYSC allowance from October 2021. My background is petroleum engineering. Usually, there is this annual oil and gas conference that holds in Eko hotel, Lagos every August. I had long decided that I would attend the conference and leverage on networking to better my options. My savings paid for the conference registration, hotel accommodation close to Eko hotel, feeding, transportation and miscellaneous expenses. This weeklong conference gulped about 400k from me.
I saved up 300k from NYSC (Nov. 2021 - July 2022) and made up the difference from home lessons pay.

At the conference, I presented 2 technical papers and also networked with captains of industries.
My take-home were two job offers; some MDs were impressed that I came as NYSC guy and gave me cash gifts. Infact, I recouped about 160k before coming back from Lagos. I chose one that allowed working from home. I currently work from my base in PH.

Morale Lesson:

If you wash your hands well, you will dine with kings

Studied Petroleum Engineering too and currently serving, will be passing out by october/November. Can I reach your mobile or mail?
