Most of those businesses you mentioned render essential services therefore they cannot afford to shutdown during holidays because they make a lot of sales on such occasions...what most of them do is to operate shifts for their staff during such days.

my friend got a job offer from an hotel. The work roaster is two days on, two days off. Is it ok?
