I doubt people quite understand that the purpose of student loans is so universities can be properly funded.

Of course fees will increase, since current fees do not cover current expenditure, lol. Besides, its a profit making business too, you'd find

With that senseless bill he passed? What does the parent and a guarantor have to do with the ability of the student to get a loan? Let the student be responsible for the loan.

So even if you take a loan you will be responsible for for your business from a bank, you wouldn't have guarantors?

Where do they expect the student to get a guarantor? Let the students NIN be used. Taking a business loan is different. Let the student be a student.

Does being a student mean you're alone in this world? No families, no family friends, no neighbors or anyone who can attest to your good character and stand in for you that you'd not default?

How is your NIN supposed to guarantee anyone that you'd not default?

This scheme is not charity for some people who are considering it to be. Those who take loans should be willing to pay back so that the younger ones too can benefit.

Hopefully, they'd scrap NYSC too and pay people what they are worth, instead of subsidising employers at the expense of employees.

The guarantor thing should be removed

The only way the student loan can work is for the students to be doing part time work while still studying, then FG should make collaboration with companies so that graduates can easily get job after graduation.

If we want to continue with this no job, where would they get money from to repay the loan?

This student loan bill is another means to launder public fund.

Very soon, we will see people who graduated in 1974 taking loans running in billions all in the name of student's loan.

People who hoarded covid palliative will not see student's loan and close eyes.

People who stole NPOWER funds will not see student's loan and close eyes.

People who stole pensions funds will not see student's loan and close eyes.

They will steal as much as they can. EFCC will prosecute them for 15 years with nothing to show for it
