@edoairways, they will be using the existing infrastructure of either MTN, AIRTEL, GLO or 9miblie but they will be able to operate like them. In other words, they can offer SIM cards, broadband services and other things in between that the existing mobile operators offer. For me, in a sense, this business leveraging. |

Btel will buy 10b naira airtime from the Telcos for 5k per second and then sell the same Airtime for 11k with all the documentations. It will work out fine if they don't sabotage it like MTN and GLO did with jammed calls in 2006. |

Timoleon: This is not very correct. It is factually wrong. They are a Virtual Network operator. Keyword being virtual. They need you to have an existing internet connection from any of the existing bug four |
Re: BTEL Becomes Nigeria’s Newest Entrant To Compete With MTN, Glo As Mobile Network by airsaylongcome: 2:08pm On Jun 15, 2023 |
Lolachef: A Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) is a company that does not own a mobile spectrum license but sells mobile services under its brand name using the network of a licensed mobile operator. Mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) lease wireless telephone and data service from the major cellular carriers As you can see in the infographic below, an MVNO does not have a Base station (mast) in its infrastructure. Nobi everything be right or insults. It is what I do for a living, working for an MVNO. I hope you now have a better understanding of how MVNOs work

Would you be able to buy sims from them? Would you be able to buy airtime and data? Yes it’s a virtual network. That’s where e-sims come in and other associated services. The query requested a simplified form of the entire write up not an academic or executive summary. airsaylongcome: |
Re: BTEL Becomes Nigeria’s Newest Entrant To Compete With MTN, Glo As Mobile Network by airsaylongcome: 2:17pm On Jun 15, 2023 |
Timoleon: So I will talk from my experience working for one. We don’t sell sims of any kind. We have leveraged in open source telecommunications software to provide voice and sms communication. For data, we provide internet connectivity using a combination of radio masts and Wi-Fi. Primary reason for providing the internet is so that our business customers have reliable access to our voice offering. As far as I know, it’s not usual for MVNOs to provide data and sims. |
