Yes we do. It’s part of who we are as Catholics. The priest will never use it against you. On some occasions priest one parish go to other parishes. So during confession you don’t meet a familiar priest. My uncle is a priest and always refer me to other priest for confession. I just love the Catholic Church. Team Catholica.

After you do Confession, the Priest tells you to do some Penance. (E.g. Pray Our Father, Hail Mary,etc)

It's after you have done those Prayers, that we can say your Sins are forgiven.
