The governor of Osun State, Mr. Ademola Adeleke, has reportedly escaped an assassination attempt.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the incident unfolded at the Osogbo Eid praying ground, where chaos erupted as a group of hoodlums, allegedly led by some prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), took control of the section reserved for the governor.

The situation quickly escalated, resulting in an assault on Honorable Moruf Gangaria, a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) representing Osogbo federal constituency in the House of Representatives.

Reports have it that Governor Adeleke and his entourage arrived at the venue amidst the ongoing commotion. However, upon their arrival, the governor was surrounded by the hostile group, forcing security personnel to evacuate him from the area swiftly.


The governor’s attempts to reach the designated prayer point were reportedly impeded twice.

It is also reported that prominent PDP leaders in Osogbo were also subjected to molestation and physical assault during the unfortunate incident.

The full details surrounding the event remain unclear at this time.


Despite the limited information available, it has been confirmed that Governor Adeleke managed to escape the scene unharmed

So the governor doesn't have advanced security team that will give him such information before arriving in such place.

This report is entirely false. He left the praying ground angrily because Osogbo people insisted that Senator Bashiru should not leave the front row. The commotion escalated further when he ordered his policemen to lock the praying ground gate and arrest Senator Bashiru forcefully. Again, the good people of Osogbo resisted the move until the policemen left in shame.
