AJILALA OSO DAY: Timi of Ede felicitates subjects, commends their zeal to uphold rich cultural heritage

The Timi of Ede land, Oba Dr. Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, Laminisa the 1st, has felicitated sons and daughters of the ancient town at home and in the Diaspora, on the successful annual cultural event in the town, known as Ajilala Oso day.

The annual festival, with it's maiden edition in 2021 always comes on the third day after Ileya festival, designed to serve as a convergence point for all indigenes of Ede and an opportunity to celebrate and promote their distinct cultural heritage to the national audience and the global community.

This was contained in a congratulatory message, personally signed by the leading Nigerian monarch and made available to newsmen by his media aide, Dayo Akinyele, in Ede, on Sunday morning.

According to the statement, Timi , who is currently on holy pilgrimage to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, described the annual event as a landmark in the annals of the kingdom, saying it had afforded the town an ample opportunity to showcase it's rich culture and it's age-long history of trade to the world.

The royal father, therefore, prayed for the sustainance and continuity of the event, as he commended the initiator and other members of the organizing committee.

The statement read in part,'' I greatly commend the initiator of this epochal event, Alhaji Bashiru Oyedemi, who singlehandedly worked assiduously to make this event a reality. Also, my special gratitude goes to the pioneer founding fathers of Ede modern day, which gave birth to various association like : FEDERAL COUNCIL OF EDE DESCENDANTS UNION, EDE ELDERS COUNCIl, EDE ACTION FRONT & FEDERAL COUNCIL OF EDE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION (FEYDA) and the supporting role of various women association in Ede land.

"I, therefore, charge every one of us to collectively join hands in making the annual event a global reckoning, with requisite potency of boosting our socioeconomic gains, as I call on captains of industries and other eminent personalities of Ede extraction to please come and give this historical event a corporate sponsorship and assistance it duly deserves".
