I am from the North. I went to Ogidi idemili North Anambra state to have a glimpse of what new Yam festival looks like. I ended up staying in Ogidi for several hours.

It was a colourful event. I saw varieties of Masquerades. I've never seen a Masquerade physically except on TV. One particular Masquerade caught my attention most. It is this tall masquerade that is taller than Cars.

I learn't that it is called Izaga Mou in Igbo, while Yoruba call it Alangere

Which one is seeing masquerade for the first time?

Your women covering their faces with clothes, what makes them different from the masquerades?

Are the people there Christians or Traditionalists? I thought Igbos are the African Jews. So they have started worshiping other gods just as their forefathers did in the Bible which made them to spend 40 years for a 40 days journey in the wilderness.

As for me, anywhere wey fine girls dey, I dey enter. Frim Mosque to Church, and to Ogun, Sango and Masquerades.

This uncouth market woman... Learn to respect other people's culture, tradition and religion.

If one Alhaji with money makes you an offer, I'm 100% sure you will jettison Christ and Christianity to cover yourself with those same clothes you're denigrating and become a fourth wife. Your Sisters are well known for doing that. Should I list their names?

She's has always been like that, husband beater. She lives Agbero lifestyle.

I think she's an atheist because she's like that even towards Christians.

She may be Yoruba by identity but not by behaviour, no iota of Omoluabi we're known for in her

New Yam festival is celebrited by the entire Community. It marks the beginning of Yam harvesting season. It has nothing to do with Religion.
