HE IS THE MOST HOLY OF ALL MORTALS AND IMMORTALS, LIVING IN THE MOST HOLY PLACE (HEAVEN), HAVING HOLY SPIRITS (ANGELS) AND HOLY IMMORTALISED BEINGS (PHYSICALLY DEAD HOLY MEN) AROUND HIM, AND EXPECTING ALL HUMANS (MORTALS) TO BE HOLY “AS HE IS HOLY” BECAUSE IT IS ONLY A HOLY INDIVIDUAL THAT WILL BE QUALIFIED TO GAIN ACCESS INTO HIS (GOD’S) HOLY HABITATION AFTER THIS LIFE.

REFERENCES (KING JAMES BIBLE): Genesis 1:26; Psalm 24:3-4; 15:1-5: Leviticus 11:45; 1st Peter 1:13-21; Exodus 22:31; Matthew 5:48; Hebrews 12:14.

FOR SALVATION AND TO BE HOLY, MATTHEW 1:21; JOHN 1:29, 12; 3:16.

NOTE: IT IS ONLY JESUS CHRIST THAT CAN SAVE, MAKE AND KEEP YOU HOLY!

"God is the eternal, independent, and self-existed Being whose purposes and actions spring from Himself. He is absolute in dominion; the most pure, the most mighty and powerful, infinitely benevolent, beneficent, true and holy, the Creator and upholder of all things; infinitely perfect and eternally self-sufficient; illimitable in His immensity and indescribable in His essence; known fully only to Himself. He is infinite in wisdom; He cannot err or be deceived and from His infinite goodness, can do nothing but what is eternally just, and right and kind".

WHAT A NICE QUOTE BY ADAM CLARKE.
I THINK OUR BRAINS ARE VERY SMALL TO FULLY UNDERSTAND WHO GOD IS.
I WANT TO BELIEVE THAT EVEN THE ANGELS CANNOT FULLY UNDERSTAND THE PERSON OF GOD.
THAT IS WHY WE CALL HIM
"THE ALMIGHTY: OMNIPOTENT, OMNISCIENT, OMNIPRESENT."

HALLELUJAH!

If you're talking about the god in the bible, you know, the god of israel, then he is an advanced extraterrestrial being from another planet who visited planet earth at one point in time. smiley

Yahweh's greatness is infinite, His majesty is unique, His independence is absolute , His sovereignty is undisputed and indisputable, He is the Everpresent I AM THAT I AM, The mighty Strong One Elohim, The El-shadai All sufficient God, The covenant keeping never failing Jehovah, The only wise God, The Almighty God and The Eternal God.   He is beautiful beyond description, too marvelous for words, too wonderful for comprehension, like nothing ever seen or heard, who can grasps the depths of His wisdom? who can fathom the depths of His Love?, He is the Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent God.  To Him be all the glory and majesty, honour and victory forever and ever.  Amen.

God is the EL___________

***"EL" in Hebrew suggests more than an indvidual.
I now see why the Bible says in 1st John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."!(KJV)- is "the Word" confusing , Read the whole of John chapter 1 and you'll know who the Word is  smiley

They say: "Two (good) heads are better than one (bad head)," "there is power in unity," "united we stand, divided we fall" et cetera.

Hallelujah! The GODHEAD (Acts 17:28-29) is more than one person. We have "the TRINITY" which is greater than any unity.

let's sing along: HOLY, HOLY, HOLY: LORD GOD ALMIGHTY,
                   EARLY IN THE MORNING OUR SONG SHALL RISE TO THEE;
HOLY, HOLY, HOLY: MERCIFUL AND MIGHTY,
GOD IN THREE PERSONS, BLESSED TRINITY.

                  HOLY, HOLY, HOLY: ,

To OLAADEGBU: infinitely benevolent? He is INFINITELY MALEVOLENT. Can a benevolent God harden somebody's (his creation's) heart so that he can 'useless' glory? Pls take time and read the following: Ex 4:21, 7:3&4, 13&14,912, 10:1,20, 27, 11:1,10, 14:4,18.

Can u recall when the ark was being taken somewhere. The bull or the whatever animals that were carrying the ark. One of the animals was about to fall. Somebody, out of concern grabbed the ark so that it won't fall. What happened? THE ANGER OF THE LORD GOD WAS KINDLED AGAINST HIM. The guy did it out of reference. Was that anger not misplaced. Put yourself in that man's position joo.

Let's say you were at home with your parents. Somehow the TV stand slipped and you ran there so that the thing will not  kaput. What did your dad do? He ANGER WAS KINDLED against you and he started beating you mercilessly. What will be in your mind?

The last time there was bird flu in Nigeria, what happened? ALL the birds were killed and the people concerned were compensated. What would Our 'infinitely benevolent, beneficent, true and holy' God have asked his people to do? Dress it well and export them to Niger Republic, Ghana etc and sell them to those people. What would be your reaction if flu-infected birds are exported here from Britain and one of your people bought it and died? Talk true jare.

It is only a 'just' God that will visit the sins of father on the children even up to the tenth generation. Do you know what happened to Ackan and ALL his family? Pls read Jos. 7, especially 24-26.

This is 1Sam 15:3 Now go and smite Amalek, and UTTERLY DESTROY ALL HAVE, AND SPARE THEM NOT; BUT SLAY BOTH MAN AND WOMAN, INFANT AND SUCKLING, OX AND SHEEP, CAMEL AND ASS. Charles Taylor and the Butcher of Belgrade did not do 1/100th of that and they faced International Tribunal. Haba. What will a mere infant and suckling do to deserve that treatment. Even prisoners of war are not treated in that way. 'infinitely perfect ' indeed. Saul was punished for being kind, for saving a fellow human being.

Do you know that God has evil spirit? 1Sam 16:14 says But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, an evil spirit from God troubled him.

Is God really reasonable in his judgment? I don't think so. Look at Samuel and Saul. There was war between Istreal and the Philistine. There were 30,000  chariots and 6,000 horsemen and the infantry (as the sand which is on the sea shore for multitude) as the bible puts it. When the men of Isteal saw this, they were frightened and most of them ran away. Saul was the king and Commander-in-Chief. So the lot fell on him. You know, in that kind of situation, there would be a lot of advice and conjectures. They waited for Samuel for SEVEN good days, yet he did not turn up to come and offer burnt sacrifice. Yet Saul did not go to war without the burnt offering. You know then, there was no GSM service or ordinary telex. He still wanted God's favour. After waiting for seven good days and almost being deserted, he decided to do what a reasonable person would have done. He offered the sacrifice. As soon as he finished, the 'alakori' came in. He did not even deem it fit to apologise for not coming on time. What was his comment and what was God's judgment?

Somebody was born blind. When Jesus healed the man, Jesus was asked: who sinned?. It coudn't be the man since he was born blind. Jesus said it was God that did that so that his glory can be shown. A man's whole life (he was 40 yrs old then) was wasted so that God's glory can be shown. Nawa oh. Gowon was less than 40 when he became the HOS, one of his governors then was only 25 years. Donald Duke was in his 30s. Joseph became the Prime Minister in Egypt at the age of 30. David became king at the age of 30 and even Jesus was 33 years old when he completed his ministry. Elumelu was in his early 30s when he became head of a major bank.

What do you think of a God who will waste his creation's whole life so that he can be glorified. If you ask me, I don't think much of that God. Peace!
Re: WHO IS GOD? by OLAADEGBU(m): 5:08pm On Sep 14, 2007
@MisterMan,

If you have already jumped to the conclusion that you arrived at about God hence your mind is made up then I guess that you are not enquiring for answers.  But if you want my advise on this I guess there is little or nothing that I can offer.

Nevertheless, there are at least some facts that are non-negotiable
1. That God created you.  You owe your existence to God, If He decides to withdraw the breath of air that you breath you know that is the end.
2. That you are a spirit, have a soul and live in a body.
3. That everyone is going to die sooner or latter.  This is when your spirit and soul is separated from your body.
4. That after death is judgment, and that God is going to judge you based on what you have done with Jesus who has been judged on our behalf.

There is nothing you can do to change these facts of life and death and its attended consequences.  The decisions you make here on earth will determine where you will spend your eternity, heaven or hell.   The decision to either become a new man in Christ or not will determine your destiny.

As to your questions, you may not be able to understand the scriptures from the perspective that you approach it from.  Your spirit has to be awakened to discern the Word of God.  In 1 Cor. 2:14-16 states "But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them [of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them] because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated." 15But the spiritual man tries all things [he examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him]. 16For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart."

There are 2 races of people on earth and you fall into one.  These are the Homo-Sapiens and the Homo-Novus; In other words, of Adam or of the last Adam.  What I mean is that all Homo-Sapiens on earth today came from Adam and Eve and they are natural but spiritually dead.  "Therefore, as sin came into the world through one man, and death as the result of sin, so death spread to all men, [no one being able to stop it or to escape its power] because all men sinned."

Those who are new creatures in Christ who is the Last Adam are those that are called the Homo-Novus2Cor.5:17 "Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!"

When you turn from your sin and confessing them to God and forsaking them, then turning to God by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ that has paid for our sins, we would have passed from death to life, from the first Adam to Christ and therefore become a new man.  When you have received Christ as your Lord and Saviour He will send His Spirit to guide you into all truth regarding His Word and give you understanding as you read, study, meditate and memorize the word of God.  You will not only receive the head knowledge but the understanding, comprehension and revelation knowledge of His Word.

In this sense God allowed the Heart of Pharaoh to be HARDENED because it was already hard. USELESS GLORY ? hmmm how horrible to fall in the hand of the almighty. Harden not your heart to the word of the lord.

No that is not what God thought. The practice of Helping the other gods as Baal and Ashteroth on their feet was not the way to help The God of heaven that created you.

God Does not need your reverence if it diminishes his glory.

The destruction was Ordered by God because He was Fed up of sin. Now look at the same Isreal He ( God) Killed thousand because David Numbered the people. Now that is God he is no respecter of Person.

Do you know that God has evil spirit? 1Sam 16:14 says But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, an evil spirit from God troubled him.

Yes God allows the Religious LYING FALSE SPIRIT TO DEAL WITH ANY ANOINTED BACKSLIDEN MAN OF GOD

The Lord is reasonable but note he does not reason as men do.

Saul had entered into false doctrine (disobedience) and He continued in it. The priest is higher than the King. but today we are king and Priest blended in One.

A thousand years is as a day in the eyes of the Almighty. He lives in Infinity but comes to us in Space and time.

It is a blessing to Worship the Everlasting God

In this sense God allowed the Heart of Pharaoh to be HARDENED because it was already hard.
This is your opinion (which could be right or wrong). Tell me in the bible where it was stated that his heart was already hard. I never read it anywhere in the bible that his heart was hard, but it was repeated countless time that God hardened his heart.

No that is not what God thought. The practice of Helping the other gods as Baal and Ashteroth on their feet was not the way to help The God of heaven that created you.

God Does not need your reverence if it diminishes his glory.

No that is not what God thought: You were not God, how do you what was on his mind? Let us limit ourself to what happened in the bible and not what you think God thought.

Dont know where that one concern God.

Look at this: "Ye shall not eat of anything that dieth of itself; thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it, or thou mayest sell it unto an alien." (Deut. 14:21).

Do you now know where it concerns God. An animal that died by itself has some disesea. Consider the case of bird Flu. If it were in old biblical times, the Isrealites would have been expected to sell it to their neigbours.

It is only a 'just' God that will visit the sins of father on the children even up to the tenth generation. Do you know what happened to Ackan and ALL his family? Please read Jos. 7, especially 24-26.

Ackan's family knew he stole it and they Hid the Sin. The bible says they shall not prosper. You can not Judge God.  Where is that written in the bible? You have to differentiate between what you thought and was is in the bible. Nobody care conclusively state that his family members knew about it. Since it was not stated, it is only reasonable to assume that they were not in the know. We assume somebody to be innocent until proved otherwise.

The destruction was Ordered by God because He was Fed up of sin.
Do you realise that he did not even send a single prophet to them? To them, they don't know of any God, except the ones they are used to. If they have been preached to, If God had appeared to their fore-fathers as He did to Istreal's fore-fathers, they would have served him well
