There was a time in Nigeria when, after a bank does a feasibility study of an area and observes it to have a population feasible enough, they go in there and setup at least an ATM or a small branch.

Years ago at alakahia junction in port Harcourt Infront of one hotel like that, there was a working bank ATM that sometimes if you want to mk early morning travel u can just get sth from there, years later i went there and it has been shutdown and sealed off, not because of security but as u guess it, it's now more cheaper and profitable for banks to issue out POS machines to merchants to sell money.

Some of us would have observed this too, that ATMs that used to be rampant in the past are becoming scarce, even in areas that are fully developed.

POS business either needs to be regulated or stopped completely.

Is anyone forcing you to use them?

I normally enter inside bank and make my withdrawal or use the ATM machine. I think banks has started loading their atm machines nationwide.

That's very true. I can also remember when telephone businesses were springing up in different parts of Nigeria.

Today, phone companies have sent those businesses to oblivion.

We should stop POS, we should stop phone companies from producing more phones too.

I was right, cause when call center agent that made phone calls were springing up we all know what happened, it increased insecurity.

This is part of development, please. I used to travel from my village to far away just to withdraw some money, but now a POS agent at stone throw will help out. If some people are not happy with this, they are free to live by stone age standards, that is their headache.
