President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has disclosed an increasing pressure upon him to deploy military force in Niger Republic. As the chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), President Tinubu emphasized that his commitment to a peaceful resolution guides his approach to the matter.

Tinubu made this statement while hosting top Islamic clerics (Ulama) led by Sheikh Bala Lau at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday.

This was the second occasion the clerics visited the President. The initial visit occurred on August 9th when they were granted permission to travel to Niamey and engage in talks with the junta.

The President approved the Ulama's request to continue discussions with the coup leaders, urging them to expedite actions as time was of the essence.

"I am managing a very serious situation. Even as of yesterday morning, I have been inundated with phone calls regarding countries' readiness with their military forces and contributions. However, I advised them to wait. I am meeting with the Ulama and will revert to you," Tinubu stated.

"If ECOWAS is excluded, other parties will reactโ€”those beyond our control. I am the one holding back those sides. I am the one restraining ECOWAS."

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Ajuri Ngelale, stated that Tinubu received a comprehensive briefing from the clerics about their visits to Niamey.

The Islamic leaders, according to Ngelale, conveyed to the President that the coup leaders were receptive to enhancing dialogue with ECOWAS to prevent armed conflict.

Hm,
Certainly, as citizens of Nigeria, it's essential to exercise caution and avoid hasty reactions to news events solely based on sentiment. It's evident that certain information might not be accessible to the general public. lipsrsealed

Relax. The presence of diplomatic interactions signifies that ECOWAS is not inclined towards a swift invasion of Niger. It suggests that military intervention might be considered as a last resort.
How is Tinubu the one advocating for violence? Or baying for blood as you put it.
Do you endorse the military junta?

forget there is no using of military intervention as last resort in this scenario. Niger republic will in due time allow a democratic election to be held

For Tinubu, the fear of the Malian president's threat, is the beginning of wisdom.

Cowardly people will always behave cowardly
