It is only weak and over pampered women that give birth through C-S.

Women stigmatize their fellow women in everything even down to who have bigger nyash, breast and tight kpekus.

Women are the enemies of Women

See, ehn.....to be an African no easy o.

My Babe rugged weller, went to farm as a child, dey handle steering for Lagos-Ibadan express (no shaking) still had 2 c-sections.

I don't know what you mean by the bolded.

Many women in rural areas die in childbirth because emergency C-section is not available.

I hope you know that.

undecided

If only you know that ordinary Ewedu can solve the option of going for CS.

If you also know how to make use of the Shea Butter option, you'd never reach the point of opting for CS.

I don't think there are women who mock others that gave birth through CS. But if it's true, women are the most confused and complex being on earth.

There's nothing wrong with CS; it's good if you can afford it.

But recently, I've heard people coming to a particular Radio Station in Ibadan, Oyo State, revealing the horrible experience they went through in the hands of quack and incompetent DRs.

A woman said her husband spent #10M; they sold some of their properties to save the life of her wife.

The woman claimed that a DR forgot a sanitary pad in her tummy which destroyed her large intestine, she brought the evidence on the Radio station.

Some women later called in and shared their Experiences as well during the prog while some were invited to the Radio station to share their experiences.

I think the reason why most people won't subscribe to CS in Nigeria to be precise is because of the FEE and they don't want to fall into the hands of quack doctors.

The funniest part of it is that how those quack Drs get licence is what baffles me.

This is Nigeria.

It's ignorance, foolishness and mostly poverty.
I was angry why they had to allow my wife to be in labour for over 10 hours and at last the C session was still done and it was swift and quick. For my second child I didn't have to stress my wife at all... I just booked her for C Session straight right from the first day she went to register for Ante natal. By God's grace I will be doing same for our 3rd and last child wen the times comes

I had to do 2 C- sections because of some underlying medical condition.

My first child was very big and breech and had the cord tied around him. It was observed during scan, so I couldn't birth him naturally.

My second C- section was because I had placenta previa while carrying my twins that were later born pre term through a CS.

Whoever feels that c sections are for lily livered women is seriously joking.
Infact it takes a super woman to go through C section.

The pains of that massive cut, the catheter insertion, the injection of anaesthesia in the spine and a whole lot of procedure that culminates into C section still gives me goosebumps even after many years.

Most women opt for it too for many reasons, but that doesn't make them lazy or less women because they were not screaming their heads off and pushing under the instructions if those disgruntled nurses.

I have tasted both, and no one to me is sweet.

Don't mind them because they are jealous your "honey pot" is still tight and sweet. Women are a set of envious people. Before I married my wife one of the initial agreement I had with her was delivery by CS. The marriage is ok and we have 2 children. She does not keep friends and does not have loudspeaker shouting I delivered my children via CS. Nobody is stigmatized pls.

I have experienced both, it's take a brave mind to opt for CS, some women sees it as a sure death sentence, but gone at those days when CS use to be scaring, I opted for my second CS, so it's a personal thing.

For real?

I've heard it in church countless times during testimony sessions.

You'll hear things like...Praise the Lord. I want to thank God for not allowing me deliver my child through CS. The doctor told me that I should get ready to be moved to the theater for operation, but I called daddy and he prayed with me on the phone and told me that CS is not my portion. And to the glory of God, I delivered before I was taken into the theater, the God of the Hebrew women appeared in the hospital and saved me from CS.

Then she would drop seed on the altar and leave.

The problem here is that there are other women who are seated in that congregation that gave birth through CS, how would they feel hearing that kind of testimony, does it mean that their own God is dead, are these ones better than them, is giving birth through CS an abomination, why not just thank God for safe delivery and drop the mic without condemning CS?

Some Africans are gullible.
That is what testimony ministers should be sensitive while interviewing the intending testifiers and advise them properly before they come out to testify.

The root cause is the quality of health care and the level of unprofessional conduct. These things ought not be prayer points but doctors and village people made it so. It is only in Africa you'll hear stories of women being pregnant for years without a medical solution. The carelessness of some doctors has left a lot of patients dead or maimed for life (maybe we can create a thread for this type of story). You can't blame people for how they think cos the system made it so. In developed countries, nobody prays for power supply but in Nigeria, you hear phrases like "I pray there's light when I get home". God is our refuge and only hope Though there are things that God has given us the wisdom and knowledge to solve for ourselves.

Had my 3kids via vaginal delivery though..for me I think d " snatching back" is easier if you birth via vaginal delivery.2 hours after delivery I'm already going home😂and the next day you are asking who have birth as im already gaining my strength.. That's just d advantage I see 😂 you are back to normal so fast..your tummy reduces very sharply!! If you don't see my kids or Know me you will argue till eternity that I even have one talk more of 3!!

1. The birth-pang of natural birth is symbolic.
It normally should change a woman forever. It's a NDE that should make one put life and legacy in perspective.
It's difficult not to care for such a child when you know the cost of delivering them.

2. Nigerians don't appreciate CS. In Nigeria CS is also a NDE as some doctors can easily botch the process carelessly. Of course there's the cost implications.
However where it is painless, some mothers don't get that sense of essence of child-birth that instils a sense of purpose, legacy and responsibility into a woman.

I hope this helps.

How can you say CS is painless?

Have you been with a woman who undergone CS before?

If only u know the countless number of women that lost their lives based on medical reasons as they choosed normal delivery over CS which the doctors advised ..you won't type this ..

Health care providers might recommend a C-section if:

Labor isn't progressing normally* .

Labor that isn't progressing (labor dystocia) is one of the most common reasons for a C-section. Issues with labor progression include prolonged first stage (prolonged dilation or opening of the cervix) or prolonged second stage (prolonged time of pushing after complete cervical dilation).

*The baby is in distress* .

Concern about changes in a baby's heartbeat might make a C-section the safest option.

*The baby or babies are in an unusual position* .

A C-section is the safest way to deliver babies whose feet or buttocks enter the birth canal first (breech) or babies whose sides or shoulders come first (transverse).

*You're carrying more than one baby*

. A C-section might be needed for women carrying twins, triplets or more. This is especially true if labor starts too early or the babies are not in a head-down position.
There's a problem with the placenta. If the placenta covers the opening of the cervix (placenta previa), a C-section is recommended for delivery.

*Prolapsed umbilical cord* .

A C-section might be recommended if a loop of umbilical cord slips through the cervix in front of the baby.

*There is a health concern*

A C-section might be recommended for women with certain health issues, such as a heart or brain condition.

*There's a blockage*

A large fibroid blocking the birth canal, a pelvic fracture or a baby who has a condition that can cause the head to be unusually large (severe hydrocephalus) might be reasons for a C-section.

You've had a previous C-section or other surgery on the uterus

Prevention with positives :

Mother's living with viruses like HIV , HepB amongst others are adviced to give birth through C- section irrespective of their viral load been surppressed. Such mother's are only encouraged to give birth through normal delivery if they can't afford the surgical fees.

Lastly..lol men make una hear oh

If she gives birth by CS the vagina would retain it's actual size . Just imagine if ur wife was to give birth to an oversized baby weighing 4.5 kg coming through the vagina as u want her to deliver through normal delivery. Forget that talk about the vagina being elastic in nature ..pikin dey widen the stuff with few centimetres...in my opinion though ..

Pls it u choose CS use a general hospital instead of a private one ..except u are using big private hospitals like lagoon ..reddition etc ..

Most private hospitals will use only 3/4 staffs in performining CS as against where u have 10 or more proffesionaks handling a C- section in general hospitals or bigger private clinics ..

Oh well, I think context matters a lot. Never heard your own narration anywhere. It doesn't mean that you lied.

Some people are scared of every form of "operation". Fear for this set of individuals is a major factor. Testifying about how they overcame that fear is not wrong, in my view. I'm a pro-CS, but realistically, not many would voluntarily pray for operation.

Would you say that people who conceived naturally should stop giving testimonies because many families needed ivfs to conceive?

Some testify about how they used prayers and faith to overcome sickness as against using drugs. It's not wrong unless they expressly condemn the use of drugs or, in this instance, condemn CS.

For others, their testimony about CS come from a place of cost related factors (this is the version I've heard a few times). CS in some private hospitals in Lagos cost as much as 500k-1m. Not everyone can afford that. It's a worthy testimony for a financially challenged family.

Many people think it's ignorance and religious mentality, well even though the above maybe true to some extent but I strongly believe it's because of many health risks CS has been associated with in the past.

Recently, there have been more advanced breakthrough in medicine which has greatly remove most of these health risks and placed CS even on the same success rate with VD.

So, I believe as people get aware of this, many people will continue to go into it.

My wife delivered my twins through CS and the doctor who worked on her said he has done 11 CS that same day. This is a government hospital.

So people are actually doing CS more than before.

Like my wife's antenatal nurse will say, what is important is for both Woman and baby should be alive.

2.Religious bigotry.

They want to give birth like the "Hebrew women".

3. Cost of CS in Nigeria is relatively expensive compared to vaginal delivery.

While nothing wrong with the above, this is 2023 and with advance in medicine, CS has become a relatively save procedure.

That said, I had all my kids through CS and they are all healthy and normal without any complications and i could easily afford it.

I usually don't care what other people think.

People tend to believe that is laziness that makes women unable to deliver normally and shall then have to do CS.

It's a historic fear of "operation".
I personally believe it came from the 80s and 90s when "operation" was highly risky and expensive. Nigerians were poor to pay for it and the medical system was also weak, so many women die from it. It became like double jeapady which led to the rejection and bad name of C-Section till date.

Asides the fact that you can't have more than 4 CS births and the pain that comes with the recovery, it is safer than vagina delivery in my opinion.

I have seen babies suffer from birth asphyxia during vagina delivery. These children end up with serious developmental delays and cerebral palsy. With an elective or pre planned CS, the date is fixed and the baby is taken out safely.

Don't even get me started on the tears that many women suffer from vagina delivery. I know one that had a tear to her anus, she had to go and have another repair done three weeks after the vagina birth. It was such a horrible experience for her.

All I'm saying is none of the birth situations is easy, all we pray for is a healthy mother and baby.
