Those ones should start taking notes from the Springboks...πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I don't think SA takes them seriously anymore...🀣🀣🀣

And my apologies to the SA Bafana Bafana supporters in here, don't come for me please...🀭🀭🀭

the reason you think Rugby unites south Africa more is because they have achieved greater success than the bafana bafana, if the bafana bafana is playing at the world cup final today I think it would equal or have more impact than Rugby.

They are running to cross their opponent's goal line to drop the ball and score points.

During that process you see the defending team trying to get the ball from the team with the ball and it becomes physical because once your opponent crosses your goalline they already get 5 points and once that the same player drops the ball to the ground in the opponent goal line he is awarded a try which is 2 points.

So a team can score 7 points each time they cross an opponent's goal line. The team with the highest points wins the game.

While a normal Rugby game is 40 minutes each half, Rugby sevens which consist of 7 players is 7 minutes each.

Don't worry, Rugby Sevens Olympic qualifiers tournament is this month and Nigeria will partake in it. Once you watch it you will understand it. Rugby is easy to understand, the one am still trying to understand is cricket.
Playing bet on it, is it advisable?? All eyes on football and basketball alone for punters

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I always wonder why they always under perform despite having one of the best run leagues on the continent, with better sports infrastructure than most of others yet they still struggle to beat Niger, Liberia or even Uganda πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ almost never qualify for tournaments excepts when hosting, the bayana bayana does it better than the bafana bafana.

Last time I watched football was back in 2010 during the FIFA world cup in SA, and I only watched it because it was in SA... grin grin grin... We had long school holidays that year because of the world cup.

And funny enough, even though I don't know much about cricket and rugby, I just happen to know more SA rugby and cricket players compared to SA football players.

Truth is that rugby and cricket have achieved more success than football here.

So I get to see and hear more about the players compared to those of football.

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ there is even a federation for it? And they get budget allocation, it's a complete waste of resources, If you are that good at netball why not just play basketball and make more money and fame, it just seems like a game for those who failed in basketball or maybe a secondary school inter-house sports game. Thank God there is no tournament for boys.
They have a Federation and Australia is the defending Champions which was hosted in South Africa early this year.

Is not a new sport because it has been in existence for over forty years

I don't watch the league games to know who is strong or not so is not advisable for punters to bet on Rugby.

Thats why majority of cricketing loving population across the world have shifted to T20 cricket .

Check out Indian Premier league (IPL) its the second richest league after American football and ahead of EPL .

Disney and Others paid 6.2 billion dollars for just 5 years of IPL television rights and games are played for only 2 months of entire year .

T20 cricket has been accepted as Olympic sport by IOC and scheduled to play from 2028 Los Angeles Olympics .
I can tell you're an avid cricket fan, which team do you support?

South African footballers are too comfortable in the PSL because it pays well, it kills their desire to compete outside South Africa

In the early 2000s football was a much bigger sport within the black communities... But as years went by and some black South Africans started showing interest in playing rugby, the black communities started slowly paying attention to it.

But now rugby has made its mark in this country and I can say that it's now a bigger sport nationally... And yes, football is popular within the black communities, townships and villages to be specific, but that doesn't mean they don't like rugby, they just never got the opportunities to be exposed to the sport and learn how it really works, while football has always been a dominant sport within those communities.

But I like the fact that rugby is bigger than football because it just unites the entire country and I love it.
Um, No. Football remains the number 1 sport in SA by far....Rugby just happen to receive the most publicity these days because its succesful

yeah I saw highlights of the netball world cup, but damn I never knew netball has been around for forty years, I knew of the sport about a few years back. I think the sport is lame along with one other olympic winter sport where participants throw something like a kettle on a smooth surface and then keep brushing the path the kettle like object takes, I don't know the name of the sport.

I mean the north Africans play more in their various leagues yet they are highly successful, mamelodi sundowns competes very well in continental club football but when it gets to bafana bafana the story is always different, I don't think the PSL pays more than the average European clubs.

Great explanation though some persons may still not understand.

I'm a big cricket fan. Played the sport in primary and secondary school. Cricket is the only sport I watch.

Rooting for South Africa to win this ongoing world cup as my favourite England have messed up.
That's awesome, seeing someone that played a different sport from what we're all used to around here.

I really want India to win that world cup though, because I like Kohli a lot. But if they can't I will really love for New Zealand to win it

if they keep passing the ball backwards, how are they going to move forward?
2ndly, what's the difference between rugby and American football?

well its simple, while the pass is passed to someone who is behind, you can also pass while you are running, hence you gain the ground

Am based in UK i know few things about american football

Actually in some instances it does pay on the same level as Greek, Belgian, Turkish, Danish clubs, etc. it got to that level when the PSL got that multichoice TV deal.

I don't know, just that some of the reasons you gave for the performance of the bafana, are the same reasons why north African teams, even the Spanish team that won the euros and world cup were mostly home based, it's just somehow to see bafana always struggle against smaller nations.

You can't compare the Spanish La Liga with the South African PSL bro, Playing in La Liga you're already exposed to the highest standard of football possible, Most of the Spanish players that won the Euros and the World Cup either came from Barcelona or Madrid and those are the two best teams in the World while the Morrocan team that did well in the recent Qatar World Cup had most players playing in Europe i.e Hakimi, Amrabat, Aguerd, Ziyech, Bonou, etc, etc , When Bafana was ranked number in Africa and 16th in the World, we had p[layers playing in countries like England, Italy, Spain, Turkey etc..our players need to move into these leagues again in order to be used to high-level football

I know lack of top team players is one of the factors, I just think the problem is more than that, honestly because there are so many teams in Africa who don't have players in Europe, or not more than one or two, yet bafana will still struggle against them, I agree with you though.
