Hello house, thanks to everyone that contributed to my recent post about choosing between 20 tons gas plant or agricultural business. I have decided to go with farming to add more value to our country and give back to the community. I’m in the middle of negotiation to buy 50 acres of farm land in Ogun state for green house organic crop farming , goat, cattle and snail farming. But the issue I’m having right now is that living here in Lekki Lagos and going to my farm can be a bit stressful, so I decided to buy one plot of land in owode egba which is closer to the farm land. Now I’m thinking of a simple container house since I will only be staying there anytime I visit the farm, but someone is advising me to build a 2 bedrooms which I don’t think it is necessary. The container and the interior fixtures cost 7m which is slightly negotiable , attach is the pictures of the container tiny home. I will appreciate if anyone can advise me on which one to go for. Thanks in advance

I prefer the container house cos it is movable just in case you change your mind in the future.

I just hope they will not move you with your container one day while asleep. grin

I will buy 2 large Rottweiler, the land will be fenced and gated so that nobody has access to the compound apart from me and Someone who I will employ when I’m not around to take care of the dogs.

Yes I’m going to fence the land and also install security gate. Where the one plot of land is located is in the town of owode egba and not the outskirt. It is just an accommodation for me to stay anytime I’m visiting the farm. The farm land is 1hr 30m drive from the town.

Hmmm that is still a long ride toll and fro ... If they are communities within the farm area ... It is better you build around there and install solar systems ...so you won't be in an hurry to leave ...most importantly ensure the area is safe ...

Only the town I’m sure is a safe area and compared to driving from Lekki down to the farm which will be a little bit stressful, it’s better I drive 1hr 30m from the town to the farm since its only when I wanted to visit the farm and I also have a beast pick up truck that makes it easy for me.

why not build a modest 1-room self contained apartment. that should cost you even less than 1-million sef.
Morover that your container, hmm dem fit help you move am long before the day wey some people know it's value.

Also the block house would have better resale value than that thing you doing especially since in this part of the world, not much people have such mentality of such container apartment.

I might not have read or followed your previous post about "choosing between 20 tons gas plant or agricultural business" but the mere fact you had to come asking such question shows likelihood you don't have indept experience managing either or both of such business.

yea you could employ professional hands but it helps to understand what's going on else they would help you run it into the ground, or even open their own Business inside your own. Except say no be Nigerians you go employ.

one Advice - never employ services of locals there. You could use them to do laour but never employ them to manage the business, not even on recomendation of a local there.
Those people knows how to appear happy for you but all na eyeService.

You seem to be willing to spend so much at the very initial time, for something you don't seem to have [much] experience in, and at this funny time of the economy when even the experienced Ones are kinda struggling.

Some people open fancy restaurants which close down long before it's next 1-year rent is due, while those who
opened
restuarants that even fly would try to steal food from your mouth if you ain't quick enough continues running for
years.

Now coming and going, can never be like when you spend more time in the farm

Okay. The container house is good.
Is the Abule Otun located along Owode-Ofada way?

I still very much believe a [modest] Concrete block apartment would be much cheaper both now and in future.

With regards not wanting a tenant, no one is forcing that. you could build an estate and not have a [human] tenant.

Also having a proper building takes proper ownership of said land especially in that region where they sell land to you, and come back to reSell it again. In those region, even having cornerPiece or fence with gate is sometimes not enough.

Even with proper building on the land, dem fit still come sell part of the compound.

Yes I’m doing it for profit because it is my investment. Giving back to the community is my plan to provide the kids with educational materials, renovation of the community school toilet and provide the community with clean borehole water powered by solar
