There Are Almost No True Christians In Nigeria by Serendipity2023: 7:19am On Dec 17, 2023 |
Christianity, at least in Nigeria has failed abysmally and has been replaced by hypocrisy and pretence. If Christians means those that live like Christ, then there are almost no Christians in Nigeria. This is seen in our greed, corruption, avarice, desire to cheat and hurt others etc. If you do business with a typical Nigerian you will understand this. It's even worse with the pastors. I once upbraided Ladipo Motor Parts men who closed shop to pray one morning. This is because I know there are no honest traders amongst them. They would easily cheat you even if you you were their mother. They care not. It's all about the money. So why the pretentious prayers? Prayers without efforts to lead a good life. Love for humanity transcends over every other law and he that doesn't love doesn't know God. See Mark 12:31 and 1 Jonh 4:8. This greatest message of Christ has been deviated from and is no longer being preached. It's now all about prosperity and material possessions. Today, the pastors, priests etc are just there for the money. The early apostles lived communally and cared for one another. If you aren't rich today, the leaders of the church won't bother about you. 3 Likes

The caption says, "Almost", which means there are a few true Christians. So, no argument. 1 Like |

Since the mercy of the Lord is abundant why would anyone bother to be "Christ-Like" and miss out on all the fun? Some will even echo Great Jim Reeves and say: "This world is not our home, we're just passing through". Make dem pass quick na lie. They'll even be praying against death. Is death not supposed to be the train that'll take them home? I weak for una thick faced double standards..smh 1 Like |

I reason with you because Jesus didn't preach prosperity but rather Love. Why did the pastors now come about prosperity all along |

Serendipity2023: Bros if na so, just generalize it and put all. As much as I hate to admit it, I have to agree with the post, but your own percentage is untrue. Many have labelled Christianity as an identity, and not living like one. And for the prosperity and material possession gospel, well that's the modern mainstream Christianity and is nothing more than just heresy and has nothing to do with biblical orthodox Christianity. But have succeeded in raising greed and excessive love for money in the hearts of sinners who needs nothing but Christ alone. |

Serendipity2023:Actually, unlike places like Europe where people are sensible, there are no single truth preaching church in Nigeria currently. the so called popular big churches of Redeem, Winners chapel, Christ Embassy, Mfm, Deeper life, etc, and even the church i attend are among. The only truth these churches preach is CHRIST. Every other thing they preach are misconception of tradition and religion, fictions, falacies, invalid prophecies, dogmatic and inconsistent doctrines that are not biblical, all put together to confuse the people to give them false hope and get their money in return |

"There are almost no true Christians in Nigeria." "I could comfortably say 99.999999%." The problem is when we try to judge others from a sanctimonious point of view, we end up judging ourselves. Your self-collated statistics reeks of self-righteousness, and judging from it, you're out of the number of Christians in Nigeria because 99.999999% is approximately a 100%, mathematically speaking. Run along, brother, quit whining and go do what Jesus commanded you to do in Matthew 28:19: go preach the gospel and reduce your 99.999999% to 0% if you can. |
