I am 196m and I have never seen my height as an issue in public transport cos I it's just a temporary discomfort.

Neither do I start insisting on front seats. But my body is quite proportional, which means even though I am taller than you, you might have have longer legs than me.

But now, I have taken public transport like 3 times in over 2 years.

You're lucky! I'm all legs.

I'm 6'3 and I hate it here fr

There was a day the sitting was so tight i lost blood circulation to my legs. I couldn't feel my legs when i got to my stop, i had to stay in the vehicle for some minutes before i could feel my legs again

😂😂 I lose circulation to my legs at least twice every week. I just be looking at people sitting fine like "you don't know what God is doing for you"

I'm 189cm tall, fresh out NYSC and I've recently began working my first 9-5 job in Lagos and inorder to cut costs, I've had to opt for public transportation and I've found that the leg room is never enough in both those yellow buses and the BRT. I'm tired of folding like jeans in suitcase, my back won kpeme and I'm not 30 yet. It's even worse in traffic.

First of all, I don't think 189cm is that tall. Also, I'm suspecting most of these buses are shipped in from Asia where the minimum height is the lowest in the world.

Tall Nigerian working class, how do you cope?

STANDING MOST TIMES INSIDE BRT OR BETTER STILL GO TO THE BACK SEAT

Since I lost my job, I refused to get another one because of these and many more. I suffered in Lagos unfortunately, people don't understand the level of suffering. They want me to go back to work as soon as possible. Apart from that, some CEOs or recruiters feels intimidated by your height, they see you as someone they may not be able to control. If you have hight, it's evidence you are destined to be rich... Find a way to make the money and enjoy the glory of height. I pray I achieve this as soon as possible.

You know what, I'm still young and I'm already getting that intimidation body language from recruiters. I really thought about what you said because in USA, being tall and black automatically gives you OPTIONSSS esp in sports. I can't be handcuffed to this corporate world.

Can I ask what you're into now? Perhaps Fx from your username?

I hear you but the backseat isn't always available and you want me to stand everyday after standing hours at the queue? This is my everyday routine not a one time thing. The Lagos proletariat are going through a lot o.

Yes I had to downgrade or will I say upgrade to been independent. I had to use every option including trading fx. It's a difficult time to transit but musk says whatever that is important is worth trying even if the outcome is failure. So been independent is my priority right now, life is short and time is expensive. Let me see what I can do with it.

I am almost your height.
I do get issues boarding buses.
Being tall in Nigeria is very difficult and challenging especially when you don't have enough financial ability.
Even buying of fitting clothes, poses another challenge of its own because the ones you like might not be available for your height.

I do that too but on those nights where it's 2000 rabid humans to 3 yellow buses, who am I to be selecting bus?

That’s true. Honestly I stayed in lagos between 2016-2020 but I hardly sit in a tight space in the bus throughout those years.

I am always on calcu if I don’t sit at the front then I will sit at the first sit of the 3rd row so I can extend my long legs toward the door area you dig?
