I support this idea 100%. If General Abacha had taken this measure instead of siphoning our money abroad, Nigeria by now would've been among the countries with largest gold reserves in the world.
...and this would've been a very good way to save for the rainy days.

the only solution is STATE POLICE

This will enable the federal police concentrate on things it controls and act as backup for state police just like FBI

How many people will federal government employ to marine or mineral police that will be adequate

But Lagos alone can employ 10000 people as state police

Before now sw govs were shouting state police even established regional local vigilante

But now they are in power nothing is happening

Appointing other set of people in Marine and Solid minerals Police to go to steal their own.
Restructure Nigeria politically, that's the solution. This process of starving the hen that lays the golden eggs to feed the baren cock must continue to engender oil and solid minerals theft.

2.We need a special police force, something like a Spestnaz (special purpose, special forces) type unit of the Police force to combat banditry, Boko, kidnapping and piracy.

I think the bolded should be the duty of the Nigerian military.

Having State policing is the solution to our security problem. All these cannot work in a country where all the security apparatus is concentrated at the centre.

Dissolve it and let the state handle security too

The Govornors are just "chief security officers" of their states on paper.

Yap, but at some point, the banditry, and kidnapping should be fought by a special purpose police force...maybe a force that can fight unconventional warfare.

The use of the term Spestnaz comes from Russia. Some ten years ago, a group of terrorists invaded a theater in Moscow. They did not send in the Army, they sent in special forces, under the control of the Interior ministry.

Likewise in India, same thing led to a response from the COBRA unit (of their police). Not the Army.

The racist government of Rhodesia had the Selous scouts which grew from a unit of the colonial police into an effective COIN unit.(It was effective in part because the racism endemic in other parts of the Rhodesian army did not apply in the Scouts. ).

We can't use the army for everything. (Infact the army needs improvement, but that is another story).

Is the education standard in Anambra developed? Is that what he is bringing to Nigeria exactly what we have in Anambra? Is Anambra better than lagos, portharcourt or even kano as a developed city? You obidients can be very delusional..
