The "geographical area", as once referred to by a late elder statesman, Chief Awolowo and which later became known as Nigeria, has found herself in the midst of yet another round of perplexing situations that have perennially challenged her corporate existence. Created in 1969, Nigeria was seen and accepted as the giant of Africa, a country blessed and equipped to lead Africa in the international arena.

The country would go on to become a giant indeed and this was made possible because Nigeria, though independent, still had the British in control of her economy. Those days were the days the Naira equalled a Dollar.Nigeria alone contributed more than 70% of the funds that developed the rest of the west African countries through ECOWAS.

However, after the British withdrew or rather after they were through with Nigrria, The country began to deteriorate. The indigenous masters that replaced the colonial masters didn't know how to keep the country running effectively and that was the beginning of Nigeria's decline.

Nigeria was a dream and a good one at thatI but it was a dream that never came true, much to the disappointment of its very hard-working citizens.

At this point in the painful history of Nigeria, it's quite obvious that the country is in its final stage of demise. And it's a pity because we had everything we ever needed but we didn't make good use of it. Just like Adam and Eve had it all and threw it all away for far less, so Nigerians have thrown away a very golden opportunity to be the greatest country in the whole world.

I weep, yes, I weep for this country and its citizens, most of whom were and are meant to be enjoying the good of the land.

The only thing remaining now is for everyone to brace for the inevitable eventuality: the dissolution of the "geographical entity" called Nigeria.
