Good morning everyone.

A friend outside the country wants to marry his fiancee without coming home.

Are there any provisions in Nigeria for couples to get married legally with one of the parties absent?

Thank you.

Yes..... You will just ask someone to stand in for the person.

Most people will ask their sister to stand in for the bride or a brother for the groom..

But it got to a point where a bride sister who stood for her sister eventually greased the bed for her sister on the honeymoon night and took in and the groom went back to her family to asked that he marries the sister instead of the one abroad.

When this news got to the one abroad, she flew down to Nigeria and was in disbelief.

Try and be careful....
