The Presidency has charged state governors and council chairmen to wake up to their responsibilities as a panacea to food crisis and hardship in Nigeria.

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Nigeria would be better if governors and local government chairmen boost food production in their domain.

Posting on X, Onanuga berated governors for blaming the Federal Government for the food shortage in the country.

“Let the governors and council chairmen wake up to their responsibilities. The Federal Government is not the only actor in town.

“You have your duties cut out for you. Imagine each state making efforts to boost food production in its domain, build one world class hospital, good roads, good schools etc. Imagine what our country would have become.

“But while governors and the councils shirk their responsibilities, they are quick to call out the Federal Government, which is far away from the people those governors govern.

“Let all governors govern well, along with their councils, food inflation, at least, will disappear. Our Federalism may not be perfect, but we are not a unitary state, where everything must flow from the centre,” he said.

Ladies and gentlemen, the great Tinubulation just graduated us to extinction class. Brace up, if you don't get extinct in the next 7 years, you will win the ultimate race and graduate to evolution class. Maybe you might retard back to chimpanzee and be chewing grass like some Northerners have started chewing.

Onanuga should please zip it. His position in the administration is very sensitive therefore he doesn't need to open his mouth anyhow if not, people will think it's the position of the administration. This post right here passes an undertone message of fear and defeat to the general masses meanwhile, what we're looking for is a viable solution for the short and mid term and that solution can only come from the FG. So what is the FG doing about this impending crisis now ?

Of course,he is right. What do the states and local governments do with the allocations they get?.The most essential arm of government is the local government, and if it is not working, the people cannot function.

Where are agriculture extension officers? Where is dry season plantings? Where are improved seedlings?

The Governors and LG Chairmen are responsible for the above with assistance from the Federal Government.

Dey there dey speak English...!!
They can't be up there looting on an industrial scale and expect others to work accordingly...!!

The day they begin to set example is the day all others would fall in line..!!

What we need now in Nigeria is a military take over for a full reset back default mode and providing the country with a better constitution and restructuring....!!

That's the truth though. We are so quick to call on FG while these governors siphon allocation every month and do nothing. By now, every state should be able to grow what they eat.

The State Governors & Local Government in the States are the main culprits, they add no value to the system.

Tinubu & The FG in Abuja should feed the Almijiris in Gombe & Jigawa, then come & feed the educated scholars in Anambra & Abia abi?

Take Delta State for instance, they have been governed by Pdp for 25 years in May, they have collected the highest allocation from The FAAC for 10 straight years, but the Mumu Indigenes in their bloated ignorant pride, will still blame APC FG in Abuja for the poverty & lack of social, & structural development in their state?
