Good day my fellow Nairalanders.....Hope you guys are having a nice day? Cuz mine is so sooooooooooooo helticccccccc grin

Just this morning,I went to a friend's shop that's situated at the junction of my street since I've been out of work for sometime now......Just as we were conversing and reminiscing on the death of Junior Pope , coupled with the Bobrisky and VDM's wahala,an okada man without helmet ran into the Delta state task force working alongside with the Nigerian police and he was immediately arrested for violating the rules by not putting on helmet....I said to my friend,--"omoh,this okada don go carry choppings put for those police men hand". And we both laughed at it...

The okada man was an elderly man, perhaps in his early 60's,and that was an obvious fact and we were pleading on his behalf. .....Along the line, some fellow okada men came and they were angry and were becoming violent angry. Personally,I knew the whole saga was becoming something that'd lead to a mass arrest if not contained on time,so I called out one of them (an okada man) whom I know.....I tried to explain to him that the police men had done nothing wrong, and besides, they were even trying to protect their colleague's life ...Cuz safety comes first and every road user must always put that at the back of his mind...

After sometime, the senior oga Among the police men was polite enough to come down from their van to calm down the whole pandemonium.....

On my own,I was like, why are Nigerians like this.... Simple safety measures,we can't maintain but will be shedding tears when we become victimized by the same thing we failed to take precautions on..... Personally,I'm not excluding myself, cuz I could remember vividly how many times I almost fought with V.I.O simply because they queried me why I wasn't having a fire extinguisher in my keke grin. Not until my father who's a retired army officer sat me down and warned me never to do such thing again..That they are only protecting my life and that of other road users......Na from that day I wise up....

Just like my late Lecturer would say back then,--"Prevention is better than cure". So it is..

You couldn't have said it better. Very apt 👌👍👏

Even "Heaven help those who help themselves " in hausa ALLAH ma yace tashi in taimaike ka.

You can see a fast moving dangote truck or any big and long vehicle and you riding okada or small vehicle will want to drive fast along with it or overtake it. And you expect miracle to happen.
