Many times I have stood by the road waiting for transport and have been generously offered a lift by Muslim men in cars or bikes.
But here in the South, it's extremely difficult to see a Christian man give a lift to another Christian man , and even if he does,it is often for a woman.
Muslims would go any length to make sure you are comfortable and it is very high if you are a Non Muslim not of their ethnicity living among them.
I experienced this so well among Niger state Muslims and if NYSC is to be done twice,I will choose the Muslim North anytime anywhere anyday.

You have spoken nothing but the truth bro. I attended university in the North- Bauchi precisely, and in all my being, I've never met a people so honest and hospitable like the northerners. About the lift thing you wrote up there, I've told same story to my friends too. I served in the east(Nnewi, Anambra), in 2011 and couldn't believe the level of distrust folks had for each other there. I honestly do not like engaging in these online tribal wars, I hope no one reads my comment through such eyes, but truth is truth. An average Northerner is(was?) very peaceful until you play with their religion, which by the way isn't a good thing to do. Now take Nairaland or the Nigerian internet space in general as a case study. It is very rare to see northerners making noise like other ethnic groups do, even when they are being insulted or called names. It's the birth of all these terrorist groups that has just stained their name. Last last, most people who talk bad about the northerners are people who don't travel at all.
