We deserve what we are having, and the obstinacy of this speaker is a full reflection of the societal structure we have come to concretise in this country. We should all suffer and learn from this great calamity

I'm not against a woman being the Speaker of our house, Nancy is also a speaker in the US, we have seen a woman like the former finance minister Okonjo Ngozie doing better then a man and now in the World Bank top, but in the case of Etteh, she want to use the state money for panket and lipstick, trowing birth day party up and down in the United States, before you know what is happening she will travel to Spain for facial or abdominal surgery to look like a sweet 16 so that Mike Okiro can climb her just like Balogum climbed Stella during the regime of the ugliest President in my Generation, I think late present Eyadema of Togo is far taller and prettier than Obasanma

Level 19 news!!!  Nothing is ever hidden under the sun.  It is only a matter of time before it is revealed.  Whatever is done in the dark must surely come to light.  Too bad "Stella" will never be able to defend herself or clarify these "issues". grin

all these mess is the after effect of obasanjo.
it goes a long way to show us what the end of his projects are going to be.
our so much talked about efcc will end in this same mess because it is a tool and such tools always end up in a mess.
let us watch and pray as things unviel themselves.
what i am sure about is that the prayers of the suffering nigerians will definitely get to high heavens one day.
rows after rows in the house mearnt for law and order yet people are fighting to keep her on seat.
a special shame to obj.

Leave the Kleptomaniac alone, she wants to bring out the THUG in our house of rep members again. Until they drag her from the exalted seat with her GELE, ATTACHMENT and ACRYLIC artificial nails to the floor of the House, while OBASANJO and the PDP Governor's are wrapped and thrown out of the Gallery windows, Na that time she go know say Blood dey hot.

She is shameless

Resignation is a thing of personal choice in the face of pressure. But the woman has made it excessively clear that she will not resign. Now the the second option is for those who employed her to sack her. The electorate from her constituency have the right to re-call her. Nobody else can. Not even Yar'Adua.

If my employer is too scared or just doesn't have the power to sack me, why should I give him the pleasure of quitting?

@Bibiking1

leave all these people they don't know that the only people that can bring change is the electorate. Let us suffer if we cannot effect change.

There is a positive relationship between the immorality of the political leadership and the increase in the impoverishment of the society.

denex,
who employed her?
where did u get this information?
what is vote of no confidence?
who recalled evan enwerem and chuba okadigbo when they were senate president?
do u know the difference between been a member of the house and being a speaker in the house?
how come you can discuss issues u are not well informed about or do u think people who come here are all dounce?
please this is a public forum with different people and different abilities so it is advisable u provide information you can defend.
the call for her resignation is all about here speakership as that will expose her to other dangers of judgements and that is what she is running away from.
again, she is still the speaker and has decided to preside over matters even her own case and we all know that nothing positive can come out of it if she presides over the report of the panel so is eighter she quites or the house will remain standstill and we can see how it is practically affecting everything in the country even yar adua proggrames.
all the same, any child that says the mother will not sleep will not sleep as well.
obj and co have killed sleep and will never sleep.

Nairaland is a good place to yarn our mouth.

Now supposing that ETTEH had done  or seen to have done something wrong, is it not the case that the House can vote to remove her.

Once that vote is called and if she succeded in getting enough support to the point that she is not removed I am afraid that should be the end of it.

If the House can muster enough vote to remove her what are they waiting for.

Nobody in any of this shouting thuggery members has move a motion to have her removed-
I stand corrected.

What are these people yabbing their mouth for. I say all mouths no trousers.

I will say table a motion to have her  removed and vote on it and get on with job of making law once that is decided. Until then the members should stop coming to the House to practice their acting carrers and boxing, kung fu and taek -wando

I think part of the political process should be an aspiring members should have medicals for serious medical condition before coming to the House, as I am not sure how many of them are medically fit, starting from the President, too much Isi Ewu and 'horse riding'(as in night riding). If the Chairman of Health committe in the House can pass waay like that on what I suspected is heart Attack, then the rest members may just die like chicken.

RIP to the fallen Honourable Member. may God grant him eternal rest and condolences to his family, May the good Lord grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.

May God help us because all the members in the house are just interested in themself. period

Story!!!!!!

When florence ita-giwa is suggesting give and take in resolution of the issue. God knows what she wants to give and take?  Ghana-must-go I guess.

But why do I have a feeling Etteh has the backing of the President

The late Aminu Safana who died defending Etteh was Yaradua's SSG from 1999-2003 and has been a close political associate to Yaradua since then. Could it be possible he is singing a different tune from the President?

There were speculations that Jonathan Goodluck was mobilising South-South speakers to vote in favour of Etteh, could the VP also be singing a different tune from the President??

Under the watch of Mr. President Ahmadu Ali threatened to recall whoever opposes Etteh in the house, is the President also indifferent of that.

Why are Nigerians so quick to absolve the C-in-C of any blame on National affairs, I am sorry but all the talk about President Yaradua's honesty exist only on paper.
Re: I Won’t Resign - Etteh by chidichris(m): 10:36pm On Oct 19, 2007
vigasimple,
maybe u don't know, she has refused to seat by the side and give room for the house to look into the report of the panel and the anti group are saying she cannot preside over her own case and on their part the pro -group are saying she is still the speaker and so she will preside over every issue.
how can u just come to the house and impeachment, u can only do that when the report of the house panel is looked into and an agreement or decission is taken on that so only then can one say based on the report of so so so and and report we want u out.
can't u see from the way that mumu died that he must over stressed himself in defending the woman.
maybe the woman is waiting for all the house members to die b4 she will decide because have gone since the begining of this matter.
to me, the war is not between etteh and nigerians but btw nigerians and the invincible hands led by baba
