Hello guys,

My American friend suppose to arrive in Lagos with Emirate airline this afternoon for an important meeting. Over the night, he packed his stuff and went to the popular Diera market for shopping, done and put everything in the Taxi and then remember there is one more thing. Told the guy to wait, dash down quickly, only to come back about 3 mins later and the guy was already gone!

His UAE residency permit is in this passport. Iphone(phone already switched off) and alot of bags. He has been with the cops since then and they keep assuring him he will get all back 100%.

Has anyone here experience something like this in Dubai? If yes, were u able to find the driver? He has been there for long now and this is the first time he is experiencing this.

Next time i go to Diera Market, i think am gonna be really careful now. This Arab guys.

He will get it like the police mentioned.An international passport was among the things missing. Just he needs to be patient. The UAE police are competent unlike ours. Btw always try to write down a taxi number or keep in memory cos you never know when you might need it.

Yes, the UAE police re competent. He was in their office throughout yesterday watching all the cameras in the area with them,

And they re making an emergency travel certificate available to him to make him catch up with his meetings.

I will get back to him this evening for an update.And also, you know, checking out a taxi number is the least that will come to your mind when using one..

Its a lesson though.

@op it seems your friend is really stupid to leave is stuff including passport inside the taxi, anyway i hope the driver is caught and dealed with

I wont say he is silly, he is a real international guy and i was shock too for him to behave like that.
