IGBO BUSINESS MEN:
Sudden Wealth and Their Money Rituals!

This is probably the most difficult writeup I've done in recent times, but don't leave me yet...

You see, I love the Igbo tribe so much that I had to write Jamb three times and insisted on studying in an Igbo speaking state... Unfortunately, UNN and ESUT refused me admission, while I rejected to study Chemical Engineering in The Federal Polytechnic, Afikpo; Ebonyi State.

I've lived, mingled and transacted with lots of my Igbo business men and one thing stands out...

They are all ritualist...

A friend recently had a printing contract, and needed to come to Lagos to buy some of the things, like papers et all...

So, he approached the Mushin Market, with his well starched, ironed with visible contour; and a beautiful pair of shoe..

With high shoulder, he stepped out of the house to the admiration of street babes...

To him, going to buy materials worth almost 500k was a big deal, but he came back feeling slightly depressed...

Da, what's wrong, I asked politely having observed his mood...

For some minutes, he couldn't say anything...

So I thought he's been duped and brainwashed not to tell anyone,,,

You know the games na..

In the end, he said mildly; Da, fear igbo men ooo...

What happened, I asked again?

His response made me laugh so loud...

If you see what I saw today eh!

After I made a transfer to the guy for the 250k Papers I bought, for him to confirm the money has entered; he showed me the alert, and my eyes went to the account balance...

Bro, I saw 50million plus in the guy's account...

I mean, this guy was wearing bathroom slippers, Short and a small t-shirt...

There must be something else he does...

He must be a "ritualist"...

I immediately reacted in defense of the guy...

This mindset has been nurtured for too long by people of different tribes...

In my over 10years of associating with Igbo friends, I have been able to confirm that they are all positive "ritualist"...

May be we all need to look up the meaning of rituals...

The sudden wealth of an Igbo man is as a result of years of accumulation.

Igbo Business men who are already Millionaires will still look like one who hasn't seen N1 in a whole year...

They don't live in an expensive house while trying to build wealth...

They don't buy the most expensive cars when trying to build wealth, if they do during Christmas, they are selling it in January when they return from the village...

They don't go for expensive clothes while trying to build wealth...

They don't impress babes with money, while trying to build wealth...

But, the moment they've accumulated enough, everything mentioned above will be done in double of what anyone else has been doing,,,

They have a life ritual to build wealth...

They have healthy competition among themselves, if you think I'm lying, go to Anambra and see houses...

The major ritual of an Igbo Business man is patience, while building...

That is why, whenever I go to their shops and they call me my oga, I will quickly return it to them... Igbo man will respect and almost worship you just to sell his goods to you, but meet outside his shop, he tells you; get away there!

The sudden wealth of an Igbo Business man is as a result of many years of savings, and investment rituals..

So, next time you hear anyone telling you, Igbo Business men are "ritualist", be proud to let them know they are...

Because it takes strong ritual sacrifices in patience, savings and investment to build sustainable wealth...

If you are an Igbo Business man here, biko share to inspire your other brothers and let the world know that your rituals are positive rituals of patience, savings and investment...

One love my Igbo brothers...

Basically people ask me why are the igbos successful in business I always replied ...turn over and delayed gratification .......

Most people want to make all the gain from one sale ...Igbo man can sale with 10 naira on a goods of 5000 naira ....he can even make lose at first to win your trust ....then you keep coming back ..paying 100 folds that loss

Some yorubas would say is it from this shops this man built his house ? ...nah shop is just an office nothing more ...baba might have 25 shops across 10 states managed by boys , or can have a warehouse bigger than your family house 10 times

Remember when I stared my factory ....I bought over 12 distribution vans ...but had no car of my own ...yes 12 vans .......

There is nothing special about igbos we are just patient , observant and very calculative in business

You have said it all.

Igbo people's approach to business is completely different from other tribes. Even down to people selling foodstuff in retail to consumers.

When you go to the market you will notice that way an igbo person will attend to you will be different from the way most people from other tribe attends to you.

And unlike other people that will like to make huge profits from a single sale, an igbo person will rather make the profit in bits from plenty sales.(huge turnover)

We sometimes gather wealth so that others would enjoy with us. So if you die and leave some wealth behind, others would enjoy it and I think that's not really bad
