@ PRINCESA When I read your post I knew you missed your folks So I though I should help Though there’s not much to tell I’m not a pro It’s obvious it shows But I’ll have to try Rather than see you cry your Friends would be back So please don’t snap Just give me little’ more time To get this place back to its usual vibe I can’t believe I’m on my 13th line, ‘Cuz I never tot I could rhyme. Well, I guess with determination I could erase my misconceptions |
Re: Rhymes by princesa(f): 9:35am On Aug 02, 2008 |
good one again girl too bad all the ryhme fire are out of me |
Re: Rhymes by Nize(f): 1:10am On Aug 04, 2008 |
@ Princesa I’m not happy that you have lost your fire Surely, this would mean that you want to retire Because this thread was one you once treasured Trying to restore it has placed me under pressure What can I do to make you not feel blue? Should I wait and just keep staying true? Allowing this thread to stay dead Is the very one thing that I dread ‘Cuz of all the threads I looked This was the one that got me moved So many people here with talents None could make a quiet man silent Now you see I feel your pain ‘Cuz I wouldn’t let it just go down the drain So my dear, don’t you worry I’ll try as much as I can to hurry No matter what, I would still persist ‘Cuz I’m not one to accept defeat Even if it seems like regaining its life isn’t feasible I’ll make sure I try my very best to make it possible. |

Re: Rhymes by cbase: 8:07pm On Aug 19, 2008 |
As They flow through Ma heart. I came in, but no one was in, Postin' ma rhymes with a smile, I stayed on 4 a while, hoping someone would drop in from across the cyber miles, and comment on these rhymes of mine, which I so much like. I gave my Intro, as I've just come, Nize breezed in and gave me a note of welcome. I read Posts of exams come and gone and rhymes 'bout ghettos, their knives and gun. Saw posts of questions, lamentations and cries, countered equally with posts of answers, solutions and advice. Marveled at such skills and talent, I prayed you guys never relent. For sometime I've been the only one posting, seems like everyone's gone coasting, i wonder if you've forgotten, 'bout this thread, so cosy as cotton. Perhaps, life's not been rosy, but Hey! whoever these days sits cosy? Since I came, I've seen only 2 posts, from Clem n Nize, surely seeing everyone post, would be Nice. A post a day keeps me young and bright, makes me think deep, easy, my Nights, and my decisions, right. Bible said "Tis not by Power or Might" But I'll keep up the fight, for my future is in sight, and time, like a loop draws tight. My Cesa, dear one, get me my hat, for I'm old, ha ha, but I'm young at heart. Now, I've talked for long, I'll stop now, before i sound strung, , Guess I'm not as strong as I used to be and not so good as I was, when I was me I'll drop in again, when I browse by for now, tis Bye. "bye" what a word! Ain't it a Funny world? Saying "HI" and saying "Bye" |

Life is funny though not always as sweet as honey labor begats honor and poverty is horror readers are leaders as lenders are riders life will be vain when love is lacking and for all these we must never go slacking |
Re: Rhymes by ACAN(m): 7:37pm On Sep 14, 2008 |
ALLWAYS GIVE THANKS TO GOD guys we need to they thank God cause no one fit give us peace of mind like baba God though sometime life fit they rough as naija government they make things they tough but deep within ourselves we still need to hold on ofala with the lord, you no need any other inspiration we all be leaders one way or the other but na from within not from another we go make the decision to drive on on this life untied road and on sharp turn wetin we write on this forum na things wey no they common somewhere somehow we they contribute to someone's life also to the society, even if na half search youself, u go dey suprise with within you done achieve in life my advise to us all na make we they always they optimistic cause if we no give up. we go eventually succeed like inside bible, Jesus talked about the parable of the seeds some fall for rocks, like our dreams they seems hard to follow but no how, we must see tomorrow sooner or later we go forget our sorrow and rejoice in God as he continue to help us grow |
Re: Rhymes by ofala(m): 1:29pm On Sep 15, 2008 |

Re: Rhymes by cbase: 11:49am On Sep 18, 2008 |
ofala: Ofala Did I hear u say readers? Then I Guess that makes me a Leader. Right? both or neither? I don't want the crown myself either. If he, who can read can as well, lead then I plead as if I Bleed Let it not be Thrust on me. for tis a great responsibility to be held in dignity have people trusting in my ability believing in my Honesty and in my Longevity, Loyalty and Royalty. Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown I am but a child, all around black and brown to my mother smile when happy, and when unhappy frown taught by my father, The King to either swim or drown. To the Rhythm I've been taught to flow Now, I think you know what's underneath me, below. I'll rather read than lead or follow, and farther from me this responsibility Throw but I can't run away or from it blow, I guess i drew the Crow, Am an Only Heir To a Throne. |
Re: Rhymes by candide(f): 4:34am On Sep 19, 2008 |
nice Cbase! With that rhythm you’ve been taught to flow I got caught up in the undertow you spit rhymes faster than chicks spend dough Words shot sharp and straight as an arrow Lets not leave you all alone Reluctantly ruling from your rhythm throne Someone stage a coup, sneak up and steal the crown! The poor king would rather read than lead the town |
Re: Rhymes by cbase: 12:13am On Sep 20, 2008 |
To Candide Dear One Candide, your words to me were truly candid. I spit Rhymes faster than chics Spend dough So you said, Candide, I've got dough too, though, I don't know whether to look on it as my friend or foe. True it has kept me far from farmlands, cutlass and hoe took me to school, to books, pencil and Biro. Still it isn't everything I've got it, but my memory, my worries have kept thin I pray my father, when he gets to know, forgives me of this Sin because i don't want to rule or lead a thing. About that Coup, Candide tell me more, though I know it won't work, because am a royal blood to the core Coup in my town is a word only heard in folklore you know stuffs like that, stories 'bout The Tortoise and the wisdom it bore. It still sits there, The Throne In its Majesty, engulfing, I know to it am prone Since I can't get ma Heir-ship Blown all I ask, you guys never leave me alone, indulge me even if it means everyday having a party thrown. who knows, maybe I'm just scared and would make a great king when I'm all grown and have ma Dad all his kingly and great secrets shown, But till then, with ma Rhymes, Candide, to the rhythm I've flown, to that secret alcove within where art is polished bright and as in the days of Shakespeare shone. |

Moving on, up and about, From east to west, north to south, Through Lagos, with each street a tout To Abuja, with politicians, money and their mouth Ladies at each junction and roundabout Rolling their eyes and seductively their lips pout I’ve come to love 9ja more, about it there’s no doubt. It is a love so pure, It is a love so sure, Ailments and loneliness, cure, Time and distance, endure Therefore I’ve taken the time to insure Against hurt, pains and torture In that sacred rule “not to injure” Or pervasively and wickedly lure” The labors of my palms, The toils under the sun in the farm, I’ll sit to enjoy under the fan, My plantains, fry in the pan, The yams full and plenty in the barn Yes! I’ll toil like a man, Hustle like a man, And I’ll enjoy like a man, Sipping my beer, like a big boy, from a can, My ladies, take out in my van, To a sunny picnic, so they’ll their skin tan. I will have nothing my plans foil, I’ve done ma part and share of the toil, Haven’t I tilled the soil? So, hmm, finger licking, my chicken I’ll broil Ha Ha Ha the rice will boil, Is it not time? I’ll the nuts and joints of my life oil, I can fill it, watch and see a big boy uncoil, Ha ha ha, am I not a son of the soil? |
Re: Rhymes by vanni(f): 6:15am On Sep 25, 2008 |
good for you food for thought, shikenah |
Re: Rhymes by candide(f): 6:26am On Sep 25, 2008 |
Alright, Cbase, the coup has been postponed With that rhyme you spun, you secured your throne! Representing sons of the soil and bards toiling hard Your tales of feasts promise just reward Born from a supernova, I’m a daughter of the sky singing intergalactic lullabies I rode to earth on a shockwave cascade Shooting through the milky way like a stellar grenade My astral body exploded on impact leaving my earthly one intact Though its been days since I played on this thread I am back! |
