I had a discussion with Mr Anony that was quite interesting.

Anony said that my atheist worldview would deny miracles (eg ressurection of christ, water into wine, miracle healing by pastors) if even there was evidence for miracles. I said that miracles are non-existent in a sane world and reality. I argued that I wasnt holding a worldview but a factual stance based on reality. Historical evidence and biology shows that humans dont rise from the dead. Anony argued that his evidence is the bible but I then replied that the bible is not evidence. Anony said that my worldview does not allow me to accept other kinds of evidence.

Anony kept saying that my world view was close minded and that my world view is skeptical to the reality of miracles. I then formulated a counterargument for a good rebuttal; The Pink Unicorn Argument. Anony was claiming that I do not have a clear cut case against the evidence of miracles.

I asked Mr Anony if I brought a horse painted pink and with a horn glued to its forehead (all done iin a professional manner), would he believe that it was a unicorn? Remember, the horse is professionally designed and so you cant tell by looking and touching because it looks so real.

a) Anony said yes.
Then, Like the people who were decieved by Jesus that he was god/son of god, Anony would believe something (the unicorn) based on flimsy evidence. Why avoid scientific testing, biology and historical evidence to debunk the Unicron and magic?

b) If Anony had said no.
Then, Anony would be denying the existence of a unicorn based on the exact same reason why I do not believe that Jesus ressurected from the dead

-Historical evidence; no reliable record of a person coming back from the dead and no relaible record of unicorns

-Biology; dead bodies can not be fully reanimated and unicorns would have been found by now due to their size and the fact that the whole world has been mapped.

Wow, watch how the christians debunk my argument with no coherent rebuttal at all. Seriously, if something is wrong why not say what is wrong? Why no comment or point out what is wrong?

You really expect proper responses to that infantile "argument" up there?

Is this the sort of nonsense poor Anony had to deal with?

Grow up man.

I like it. Being critical does not hinder being open-minded, at all, contrary to some peoples beliefs. Garbage in, garbage out, etc..

Stop using reverse psychology. Point out what is wrong if it is clearly wrong.

Please point it out or shut up. There are other threads for you to derail

Hmm, the Pink Unicorn Argument.........

Lol, This is funny you would bring it up here because it is a very weak argument, Unfortunately, I can't handle it now as I'm gonna be very busy today, I'll come back to you on this tomorrow.

but perhaps before then, someone else will put you out of your misery. The problem is will you recognize it when it happens and be noble enough to admit it? or will you just deny and scream insults in your usual manner when you have been proven wrong?

This really irritates me. Why are you people so arrogant and dishonest? Why not state what is wrong with the argument rather than just claim it is wrong?

[size=18pt]
This is the last time and should serve as a warning to any religious dumabazz that wants to come here without facts;

Please make an argument or explain why the pink unicorn argument is wrong. Dont come here and just say that it is wrong!!!

JUST A SIDE NOTE, AND A POSSIBLE EXPLANATION, NOT SAYING CHRIST CANT PERFORM MIRACLES, BUT TURNING WATER INTO WINE SOUNDS LIKE PURE MAGIC. NOW SUPPOSE ALL THESE ARE SYMBOLIC ? OK TURNING WATER INTO WINE. WHAT IS WATER ? WATER IS A SEA OF PEOPLE ( BIBLICAL LINGO ), AND WHAT IS WINE ? WINE IS THE WORD IN THE BIBLE. SO MAYBE THAT ACTUALLY MEANS JESUS FED THE PEOPLE WITH THE WORD AND KNOWLEDGE AND MADE THEM FULL OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

FEEDING THE MULTITUDE OF PEOPLE WITH TWO LOAVES AND FIVE FISHES. WHAT IS BREAD AND MEAT ? THE WORD OF GOD ( BIBLICAL LINGO ) ( ANYTIME YOU SEE HONEY, MEAT, WINE, BREAD, MILK IN THE BIBLE IT IS REFERRING TO THE WORD ). SO MAYBE HE FED THE MULTITUDES WITH THE WORDS OF GOD AND HAD ENOUGH LEFT OVER TO FEED MANY MORE PEOPLE BECAUSE THOSE WHO GOT EDIFIED ALSO BECAME A SOURCE OF BREAD AND FISH ?

I can give these two to you and say yes, they may indeed be symbolic. However you have to go further with that explanation and deal with the resurrection. If this is symbolic too, then the entire Christian faith is based on symbolic messages?
So much for original sin hahaha

you are stating the obvious with that sentiment. PSALMS 78 VS 2 I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter hidden things, things from of old-- even scripture tells you it is written in parables. with regards the ressurection ? see that would be Christ-like. however turning wine into water literally just seems like killing a fly with a sledgehammer. which is why i think it is symbolic.

a miracle doesnt have to conform to your idea of it.i have witnessed miracles or at least occurences that defied every sense of reasoning.

a personal example.

my dad used to suffer from severe sinusitis.when i say sever,i mean absolutely severe.he has had sinusitis ever since the day i became aware of things as a boy.according to my Ma,hez had it ever since she married him though it was mild.the man was a freestyle man and (un)luckily,his alcohol dehydrogenase level was very high so he could down 8 bottles of star(his favourite) without even getting tipsy.all this together with his smoking made his sinusitis severe and sometime around 2007 it got so worse he couldnt sleep.mind you he had always taken medication.infact he has used drugs for his cattarh every single day dor the 27years i have been on earth.but by 2007,it was decided he had to seek medical help abroad.it was very ridiculous for a person to travel abroad to treat a cattarh but it was very severe.his first trip was to london.it got better but it didnt leave completely and then it returned.then he was reffered to a hospital in manchester,then liverpool and then he eventually went to america.he went to america in 2010 and spent 3months on treatment(for cattarh).later that same year,he sought help in south africa.by early 2011,he went to germany and it was decided that he needed a surgery that will also include a nose recontruction.i cant recall all the medical jargon but we were assured the surgey would put an end to it.coincindentally,my dad had planned a trip to makkah for that year's hajj but he was told he'd need 2 months for post-surgery rehabilitation which meant he'd have to miss the hajj.he insisted on going and having the surgery after hajj so his german doctors gave him some medication to reduce it for the period.

according to him,he drank of the famed zemzem water and he fell into a deep sleep.by the time he woke up,his cattarh was completely gone.now my dad has never been a serious muslim.he goes to church once in a while and allows everyone their freedom.my mum is a strong christian so it isnt like my dad is a mullah or something.i cant remember him praying on a mat and the only reason he went to makkah was to relieve the pressure of his extended family.

suffice to say,he didnt go for the surgery.he visited his doctor here in lagos who did all manner of tests and also discovered his previously high sugar level was below normal and even advised him to take more sugar.

i dont know your definition of miracle,but for me,thats one hell of a miracle.if you think there's an explanation for that occurence,give it
