Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by Afam4eva(m): 1:38pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
The Nairaland political section is filled with all manner of complaints about the state of Nigeria but we just keep talking without doing anything about it. I think it's high time we came together to form a political movement which is geared towards changing Nigeria. With the help of Nairaland, we can send a strong message to the right quarters. We could even form a political party. What do you guys think? |

With the level of Tribalism on Nairaland, unfortuantely it might not work IMHO. |

What will be the targets? Who and who are eligible to me a member? Any movement without a leader is a mission to no where. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by Afam4eva(m): 2:33pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
OYINBOGOJU: What will be the targets? You can suggest some targets. As long as you agree to the objectives of the group then you can be a member. It should be an open movement. We can have leaders and not a leader. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by OYINBOGOJU(m): 2:39pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
Ok Temporarily I suggest we call the group name Movement Of d People(MOP). That is after Fela Anikulapo Kuti political movement. One of the objective will be to fight for free of expression and liberty for all. The movement will be against any foe that is against the progress of our nation. I will write more as it comes. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by OYINBOGOJU(m): 2:41pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
About the leaders The active people known to be promoting tribal war shall be exempted from holding a leading position even though they can be accepted as a member. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by Afam4eva(m): 2:43pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
OYINBOGOJU: About the leadersIt's not always good to exempt people because it will be difficult to separate people who are promoting tribal war and people who aren't. The constitution of the movement will be the guide. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by OYINBOGOJU(m): 2:47pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
Have you drafted any bill that will be accepted into the constitution and also I will suggest we pick a name now,so as to avoid conflict of interest as more members shows interest. |

berem: see oga tribal warlord talking! Culprit number 2! Its ok let that be a by gone...... Can you make a good suggestion for this movement? I'm ready to work with everybody so far it promotes growth. Oya say something to make this realistic. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by Okijajuju1(m): 3:02pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
Sadly, I dont think we are large enough to actually make any influence.. The entire membership is 970,000.. And not up to 500,000 are active. Thats not even counting the multiple I.D's here.. I think its a laudable Idea, but maybe we can affect the senatorial, local government, assembly and Reps elections.. but not state or federal government.. For those talking about tribalism and Ethinic rivalry, I dont think that many Nairalanders take that shiit seriously o!! Maybe less than 1% of the active e-tribalist are actually like that in real life.. |

ilugunboy:you no well. @ Afamefula, how possible is it to form a faceless political movement? Moreover some of us are pro-ACN,pro-PDP and others.how will you merge everyone in one political movement? |

You just have to like this afam4eva. 40 years old woman with a naive 16 years old mind. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by Nobody: 3:04pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
berem: you no well. You can't. And it would ruin the whole point of a political movement if everyone is forced to share this same political opinion. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by OYINBOGOJU(m): 3:07pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
Okija_juju: Sadly, I dont think we are large enough to actually make any influence.. The entire membership is 970,000.. And not up to 500,000 are active. Thats not even counting the multiple I.D's here.. I think it is more better when we are not large,it gives chance for better understanding and any ineterested member in future will have no choice than to abide by the rule of the movement. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by Okijajuju1(m): 3:09pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
*Ileke-IdI: I couldnt agree more.. It would be hard to bring all Nigerians across all ethinicities, religion and political affilliations under one umbrella.. The objective of the movement has to be one thats flexible enough to accomodate all and resilient enough to weed out those who are just outrightly bad (e.g PointB & 9jaIhail.. ).. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by Okijajuju1(m): 3:11pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
OYINBOGOJU: For us to be able to make an impact, we need to have the strenght that comes with numbers.. 3 million strong and we can sway an election in any direction we want.. 3 million strong and our voice can never be drowned out.. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by OYINBOGOJU(m): 3:13pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
Okija_juju: There will be rules and regulations which will be used by all members. Anybody who can't abide by the rules will definitely be dismembered |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by Nobody: 3:13pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
*Ileke-IdI:Exactly! That's the point am trying to make.it might not be easy at all.I don't have any problem with it because I am neither pro-PDP nor pro-ACN,but for some who are stuck to one party,am afraid it will be difficult. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by OYINBOGOJU(m): 3:16pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
Okija_juju: We can't force people to join but first I think we need the executives to lay out set targets and guidlines. If we get through that people will come. We don't have to see the whole staircase ,let us make the first step. |

Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by Okijajuju1(m): 3:25pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
OYINBOGOJU: Accepted... The founding Father of the movement and the first set of executives need to be formed.. (I am interested as well.. May be the flagship of my political ambiton) The main objective and motto of the organization needs to be set from the start.. As we grow, we will then go through the motions to register it with the appropiate authorities.. A constitution needs to be drafted and a review period included in the first draft.. Because as we grow in size and coverage, we would need to adjust to fit |
