Okija_juju: Nice one..... I have suggested 2 names which one do you think is better. Nairaland Political Movement (NPM) Movement Of d People (MOP) As for the motto, can you come up with some ideas..... |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by OYINBOGOJU(m): 3:32pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
As for the executives maybe we should just select the first 5 members that have shown interest here. That is temporary anyway but we need some people to set guidlines. |

Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by PointB: 3:33pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
Okija_juju: You forced a big grin on my face with my name there. Anyway PointB the Electoral Commissioner is different from PointB the private Nairalander. And as per this budding MPM, I'm gunning for position of Chairman. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by Okijajuju1(m): 3:34pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
OYINBOGOJU: The MOP one sounds nice.. However tweak it a bit. The abbreviation sounds not too cool.. Ask for the motto, I will brainstorm and come up with some suggestions.. Just off the top.. Strenght in Diversity |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by Okijajuju1(m): 3:36pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
PointB: Just kidding o!! lol.. Atleast here, I go rough tackle you well |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by PointB: 3:37pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
Okija_juju: lol, Rough tackle a Chairman of a Political Block like Nairaland? I guess you are er, er - just kidding! |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by PointB: 3:41pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
Anyway, without much ado, I just don't see how this will work. Political party and even pressure group are formed with people with same ideology. Nairaland is to big, to diverse and too complex to forge a single ideology from. I would like to see how Afam pulls this one through. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by OYINBOGOJU(m): 3:42pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
Strenght in Diversity...... Not bad Can you add or remove something.... Movement .................People |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by PointB: 3:48pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
How about 'Justice and Equity'? |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by achi4u(m): 3:53pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
I've dreaming of somthing like this but how to start is always difficult. We the youth of this nation need to take the bull by the horn. nairaland political movement |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by OYINBOGOJU(m): 3:55pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
PointB: How about 'Justice and Equity'? I think we need more strenght to get Justice........ Since this movement consist of people from different ethnic I think we can stick with okija suggestion. Strenght in Diversity. ......it sounds more like a platform to unify people. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by PointB: 4:02pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
OYINBOGOJU: No way. We don't want a party build on the Pyrrhic Unity and Diversity like our god forsaken country Nigeria. We must go from the onset on Justice and Equity. Our diversity, and our strength has only aid corruption and nepotism. So I disagree with the nonsense diversity and strength motto. I strongly insist on Justice, and Equity! |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by OYINBOGOJU(m): 4:05pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
PointB: We can as well recommend the 2 and let's go to vote. That will be fair and transparent. The voting shall be among the 5 executives. What about that? |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by OYINBOGOJU(m): 4:14pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
Now we have 2 names and motors to choose from... Nairaland Political Movement (NPM) Movement Of The People (MOP) Motto Strenght Iin Diversity Justice and Equity We need to decide on any of the above. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by PointB: 4:14pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
OYINBOGOJU: Since Afam is the current Chairman, I have assumed the position of his Deputy, Berem is the Secretary, and Okija Assistant Secretary. That gives us three votes to your and Okija's two. So you see, we are in the majority! "Justice and Equity" it is then. I wonder why you panic at the mention of those two words. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by Afam4eva(m): 4:14pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
Okija_juju: [b]Sadly, I dont think we are large enough to actually make any influence.. The entire membership is 970,000.. And not up to 500,000 are active. Thats not even counting the multiple I.D's here..Even if we are one thousand, i think we're large enough. I want to assume everyone hear has family, friends etc. We can preach to our friends, family members, relations, villagers, neighbors and before you know it, this group will be a force to be reckoned with. |

OYINBOGOJU:Easy maaan! is it not too early to stage a vote? #justcurios though# |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by Afam4eva(m): 4:17pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
berem: you no well.Let's tell ourselves the truth, all the current political parties in Nigeria don't stand for anything in particular. Though all of them claim to stand for the progress of Nigeria, so it won't be an issue because our aim is to see the progress of Nigeria. |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by OYINBOGOJU(m): 4:19pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
achi4u: Easy maaan! is it not too early to stage a vote? 5 people have assume the post of executives and that is enough to vote on any important issue here. Moreover we are talking abot NAME amd MOTTO. |

Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by nduchucks: 4:31pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
Before you waste any more time on this, try to raise ordinary N1,000,000 among yourselves for initial startup. If you don't succeed in doing this within weeks, then forget about this movement. Without proved funding mechanisms in place, your proposal is dead on arrival. |

I ask again! Is it gonna be a faceless political movement? I mean, typing from our bedrooms and offices behind our systems forming a political movement, how realisitic is it? |

Without proved funding mechanisms in place, your proposal is dead on arrival. This is where the probs comes in,not just about raising this cash but hw to utilize it to achieve a maximum result. But hw can this be possible given that most members here are faceless |
Re: Nairaland Political Movement(npm) - Let's Start One Today by OYINBOGOJU(m): 4:51pm On Nov 07, 2012 |
How to utilize any cash raised will be the decision of all members.....that is why we will have executives to make final decision which will be known by all members. About the faceless things..... It will grow to be conventional as afam said. |
