I know the questions is for Nigerians, but I'm African American. I would date a Nigerian, but I just don't think I could marry one. The ones who did not grow up in the US or UK, are far different, even when they have been educated abroad. Sometimes I just blink and stare at the things my Nigerian friends say. Also the way women are treated is apalling (to me). There are a few other things, but I don't want to say, because I don't want to make anyone feel insulted.

my dad and my sister told me: be careful! my mom didn't say anything like that but she doesn't think any less! all my friends it's kinda like: be careful, never go there, never lend money,...
conclusion: it's very hard to be open-minded regarding intercultural dating/marriage

if the AA man is educated and hs a sense respobsiblity.and not the awful lot dt spend most of their years in jail.

i hv alwys hd an impression dt a decent educated AA man is scarce even to their AA women. cos a lot of them have baby mama issues, law drama,etc.

There's are differences that comes with understanding certain matters if both grew apart to come along. For instance, i don't pick 'private numbers' someone in Hawaii finds it as nothing as she does pick any call. That's just a minute part of the whole. Marriages/dating can work across borders depending on how much we're ready to learn and tolerate each other.

It's hard to believe that people still cling unto negative cultural stereotypes in this day and age.

Many of my friends who studied in America are married to AA women, and they seem to enjoy their marriages, so there is nothing bad or wrong in marrying an AA women. D funny thing is dat, it is d good and highly educated ones dat marry AA women, while d unserious ones marry uneducated Latinos. It seems d AA women know how to pick d best.
